The Co-op Student Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting students as they prepare for co-op work terms and future career opportunities. This position focuses on reviewing and providing feedback on students’ application materials, helping them navigate the co-op program requirements, and collaborating with campus partners to ensure a seamless co-op experience. This role is not instructional or teaching-focused but centers on reviewing, advising, and coordinating support for students’ job search readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and provide feedback on students’ résumés, cover letters, and other job application materials to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist students with understanding co-op program requirements and timelines.
- Provide guidance and resources related to interview preparation, job search strategies, and professional communication.
- Support students in identifying and matching with appropriate co-op job opportunities that align with their skills and career goals.
- Participate in and support the delivery of career-related workshops, job fairs, and campus events.
- Monitor and track student progress throughout the co-op process, including applications, interviews, and placements.
