Primary Objective(s):
The Legal Research Analyst position is primarily responsible for analyzing legal information in Westlaw Canada and working with Product Management to determine how to better leverage that information for legal researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying relationships among legal information sets
- Conducting significant core legal research to identify critical legal authority on specific issues
- Making fine-grain, qualitative judgments of legal content
- Monitoring performance of new products and enhancements through testing and grading evaluations
- Collaborating with team members and internal stakeholders to better leverage key legal research information
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- French Language needed
- JLL.B or J.D. degree required
- Admission to bar preferred
- 1–3 years of legal experience preferred
- Strong legal research skills with experience using Westlaw and other legal research tools
- Ability to interpret, analyse, organize, and express complex legal material quickly and accurately
- Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a quickly changing environment
- Ability to work independently, consistently meet deadlines, and achieve individual objectives within larger team projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
The pay rate that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $25-$28hr CAD

Seeking a detail-oriented and seasoned Real Estate Law Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate law and be able to handle files from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
Review title search.
Troubleshoot Land Registry Office (LRO) returns in Teraview system.
Handle real estate transactions (residential and commercial) including sales, purchases, mortgages, title transfers, and estate documentation.
Client communication and data entry, Liaising with solicitors or law clerks, Preparing documents and fulfilling solicitor conditions related to mortgages, Preparing title insurance and calculating balances due at closing, Coordinating signing appointments with clients, Closing transactions and reporting to clients and lenders as applicable, Scanning and closing files
Client inquiries, walk-ins, commissioning documents.
Quote estimate fees to close transactions.
Correspond with client and other side counsel to fulfill undertakings
Other duties, as required.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 3 years of real estate law clerk work experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and requests.
Ability to explain legal documents and processes to clients.
Strong understanding of math, accounting.
Competent use of computers, MS Office, Unity, Outlook.

Our Client is a busy Mississauga based boutique law firm. They are currently in expansion mode and are looking to add an experienced Family Law Clerk to their team.
Your new role
In this new role you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the law firm, including carrying out administrative services, providing support to the team. You will also be required to draft legal documents and correspondence, liaising with various clients, and reviewing incoming and outgoing mails. In your new role you will also be required to Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow.
What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must have minimum of 3+ years relevant Family Law experience. You will bring with you a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills and would be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace. You should have working knowledge of Cosmolex, Divorcemate & PCLaw. You should also have exceptional communication, organizational skills, and work well in a group setting.
