Overview

- Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including JCAHO, HIPAA and OSHA
- Demonstrating clinical competency as an RN, including but not limited to: administering medications, setting up a sterile field, and sterilizing equipment
- Communicating effectively with other providers regarding daily clinical and surgical schedules to coordinate care
- Effectively documenting clinical and surgical chart notes appropriately and accurately
- Ensuring the highest level of patient care and patient service is provided at all times
- Consistently following policies and procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Increasing physician's overall patient retention by providing the highest quality patient care and patient experience
- Completing other projects and/or duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by Clinical Leadership Members
Required Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a plastic surgery office is a big plus!

- Update medication administration records (MAR) and medication change sheets as needed.
- Plan and evaluate nursing care and therapies for supported persons, collaborating with physicians, professional therapists, social workers, and other experts.
- Collaborate with team members without nursing backgrounds regarding medications, medication side effects, supported persons' diagnoses, and nursing care procedures, ensuring they can identify and report matters that require monitoring.
- Continuously assess and manage care as needed.
- Advocate for the active participation of each person living in the community.

Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing our residents with quality care. - Assume maximum safety for residents and staff, ensuring incident or accident reports are completed.
- Develop and modify the resident care plan as determined by the biopsychosocial assessment of the resident's individual needs, evaluating regularly for effectiveness.
- Assist with health teaching for residents, including collaborating with the Assistant Director of Care and/or Director of Care in performance appraisals and reviews.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Experience working in Long Term Care desirable.

What does a Registered Nurse do?
- Resident admissions, discharges and transfers
- Resident assessments and care planning
- Administration of medications, treatments and wound care
- Proficient with electronic documentation (PointClickCare) and MDS Assessments
- Liaises with physicians, families, and other members of the care team
- Delegates tasks to unregulated care providers
Charge Nurse responsibilities
Participates in care conferences and medication reviews.
Qualifications:
- Registered and in good standing with BCCNM
- Current CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Competent in electronic documentation and eMar
- Fluent in English both verbal and written
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred
- Proof of vaccination

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
You will be providing nursing care in the assigned senior living facility, delivery of skilled procedures based on sound nursing practice principles, medication administration and documentation in accordance with quality management, legislative requirements, and the organization standards.
You must be registered as RN in good standings with the College of Nurses of Ontario, you should also hold a valid Bachelor of Science - Nursing or Equivalent preferably with minimum 2-years experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care as an RN.
