In this role at Ubisoft Sherbrooke, you will lead a small game design team for which you will create and distribute tasks. You will also oversee its productivity and make sure it meets the deadlines and quality standards defined by the Project Lead (CP)/Production Manager (PM).

In charge of a part of the development of the game, you will supervise and validate the work of your team members. You will also coach them and offer training opportunities. What you’ll do

  • Create, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks  and their advancement with regards to deliverables.
  • Represent  your team.

  • Know the game’s story and gameplay and understand the technical/artistic constraints so as to be able to lead your team .
  • Draft regular reports  for the Project lead (CP)/Production manager (PM) on the advancement of your team’s work and recommend corrective measures  whenever necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Anticipate and recognize  potential conflicts and recommend solutions to the Project lead (CP)/Production manager (PM) for your team.
  • Be a mentor  for team members in terms of technical/artistic aspects.
  • Take part in performance assessments  in collaboration with the Project lead (CP)/Production Manager (PM).
  • Coordinate bug correction  as it pertains to your team’s work.
  • Help recruit  new team members and ensure that new employees are well integrated.
Qualifications

What you bring

  • College diploma in a video game-related field (or equivalent)
  • Certification or experience in project management (an asset)
  • 7 years of experience in game design
  • Participation in at least one complete game production (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the technical constraints of real time, 3D engines and level editors
  • Knowledge of databases (like JIRA and Perforce) and of the MS Office suite (an asset)

Role and Objectives:

The Design Technician, reporting to the Design Manager, will support Senior Design Technicians and Project Teams in concept design, 3D modeling, and producing production drawings for critical project elements. Your role is crucial in ensuring the successful design of mass timber structures by executing project plans and providing structural designs that optimize the use of Glulam and Cross-Laminated Timber products, Wall systems, and Modular projects. Ensure that all drawings are precise and facilitate the manufacturing and assembly processes.

3D Modeling: Create 3D models, focusing on detailed mass timber elements such as cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels, glulam beams, Light Frame Walls (LFW) and columns. Include detailed manufacturing sizes, dimensions, and engineering preferences for connections. Ensure alignment with IFC timber and steel elements standards.

Production Drawings: Generate, review, and deliver production drawings, including dimensions, material specifications, and assembly instructions.

Drawing Review: Conduct thorough reviews of own and others' drawings to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with the company QA/QC process and industry standards.

Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with other trades to ensure seamless integration of design elements, facilitating effective communication and cooperation among team members to achieve project goals.

Communication: Effectively communicates ideas and gathers insights while ensuring clear communication among team members to emphasize appropriate task delegation, helping team members understand their responsibilities and deadlines.

Collaboration: Work effectively with teams and foster cooperation.

Requirements:

Educations:

  • Diploma in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Work experience

  • Five years of experience as a design or BIM technician, including two years as a Mass Timber designer.

Software and tools

  • Excellent knowledge of computer programs, including MS Suite programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.

Working Conditions:

About the Opportunity
UJA is seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Design Lead to play a pivotal role in building the UJA brand, appealing to prospective donors and enhancing existing donors connection to UJA.

As a key member of the Marketing Hub team, reporting to the VP of Marketing & Brand Strategy, this role will focus on providing leadership and administrative support to the design team, ensuring design consistency, project coordination, and supporting the creation of various marketing materials to advance UJA's fundraising and programmatic goals. While the role still involves hands-on design, a significant portion of the focus will be on mentoring, coaching, and providing strategic design support to other designers that report into this role. Additionally, this role will lead the creative design and implementation of UJA's rebrand project, ensuring that the updated brand is adaptable and functional across all platforms, while aligning with the overall strategic goals of the organization. This role will oversee the rollout, ensuring the creation of all necessary brand assets and documents for a smooth and cohesive brand transition.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and Support Design Projects: Oversee and coordinate the design process for key UJA Federation initiatives (e.g., AGM, annual reports, impact reports, etc.), ensuring creative, brand-aligned, and impactful campaigns that are on-time, on-budget, and meet project objectives.
  • Lead Rebrand Creative Design: Take the lead in the creative design of UJA's rebrand project, ensuring that all design elements reflect the new brand strategy and resonate with both existing and prospective donors. Work closely with senior leadership and internal and external partners to bring the rebrand vision to life across all platforms.
  • Design Mentorship: Act as a mentor and coach to other designers, providing support and guidance to ensure adherence to brand standards and to help elevate the design quality across the team.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Marketing Operations, Digital Marketing, and Events teams to ensure alignment between design and overall brand strategy while providing administrative and logistical support for design needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative individual to join our Retail Team as our Design Consultant. This role is full-time, permanent working out of our EQ3 King Street store located at 222 King Street East, Toronto, ON.

THE SKILLS YOU'LL NEED:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in commission-based retail sales environment
  • Motivated to drive and own sales performance in the retail sales environment
  • Creative and persuasive communication sales style to sell complete rooms and not just furniture pieces or items
  • Proficient in operations and systems; including POS system and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledgeable of every product & home accessory offered within the store
  • Detail oriented in all aspects of the job
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work well with little or no supervision
  • Strong positive attitude to contribute to a collaborative, teamwork oriented environment
  • Must be available to work full-time, up to and including evenings and weekends

  • Asking questions to determine client's needs, then connecting products to meet those needs; explaining why products will benefit their homes and lives.

  • Clientelling to grow the base and to stay engaged with clients over time about new product introductions and seasonal promotions.
  • Responsible for managing and tracking orders until delivery.
