**Position Requirement & Competencies:**
+ High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
+ **Education related to industrial mechanics, an asset.**
+ Job-related experience for 2 years minimum.
+ Required to work assigned schedule or **12-hour shifts (4ON/4OFF)** , rotating days and nights, Monday through Sunday, working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
+ Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard manufacturing techniques, procedures, and criteria.
+ Ability to identify product defects.
+ Ability to use hand and power tools.
+ Possesses an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics.

• Responsible to complete work orders from customers/clients in a timely manner by cutting steel in precise strip widths using various programming software
• Constant quality inspection and precise measurements
• Ability to read and complete work orders, measurement sheets, production reports, quality sheets and OEE measurements
• Basic troubleshooting of machine and process flow
• Inspect work on a constant basis to ensure quality standards are met
• 2-3 years of machine operating and set-up experience

Job Summary:

The Line Operator, under the direction of the Line Supervisor, will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the operating line as required, producing a clean, quality product; maintaining machines and cleanliness of plant; ensuring safety, including regulatory, awareness of all equipment and operations.

We run our operations 24/7 with a variety of shifts. All applicants must be able to work the morning, afternoon shift and graveyard shifts. Shift Schedules changes may occur with 48 hours notice due to operational need. Applicants will receive an additional premium on top of their hourly rate when working the following shifts:

• Afternoon shift incentive start time is between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. The premium is 0.50 per hour.
• Evening/Night shift incentive start time is between 6:00PM 12:00AM/midnight. The premium is 1.50 per hour.

Compensation:
25.05 per hour to start, 27.34 per hour after 3-months of employment

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in monitoring, checking and adjusting machinery
• Tie, hang bags, remove bag weights, record weights on production report, and put production in storage
• Assist in cleaning, and checking for damaged parts and sources of product contamination
• Clear jams in packaging, infeed using proper tools and procedures
• Clean stationary magnets to ensure that product does not get contaminated with steel particles
• Perform all functions according to company policy, procedure and proper safety practices
• Maintain excellent communication with fellow crew, supervisors and management
• Keep plant area clean by shoveling and sweeping
• Perform other duties as required

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred
  
• Forklift certification experience or equivalent
