We currently have a role as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator with our large consulting client, working onsite at a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.


Role: Cybersecurity - Senior Linux Systems Administrator

Type: Permanent or Contract 40 hrs/week

Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 + 9% bonus + 3-5 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal days

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as an integral member of an agile-organized team delivering Unix operational support and infrastructure projects
  • Follow up on client requests and incidents, acting as a trusted business partner with full transparency and accountability
  • Participate in Follow-the-Sun support, covering Europe and Asia
  • Propose innovative, scalable, and industrialized solutions to automate repetitive tasks and improve overall team efficiency
  • Actively participate in enterprise-wide automation initiatives by collaborating with multiple feature teams
  • Manage activities in accordance with ITIL framework (Change Management, Incident/Request Management)

REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

  • Advanced expertise in Linux Server Operating Systems (RHEL): administration, lifecycle management, hardening, and performance tuning
  • Strong troubleshooting skills at kernel, process, memory, and I/O levels
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, custom health checks)
  • Development and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ansible, Puppet)

**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
+ 10+ years in control systems/software development and/or technical leadership, with strong emphasis on chassis and vehicle dynamics controls.
+ In‑depth knowledge of chassis control and vehicle dynamics (braking, steering, suspension, stability) and calibration to meet objective and subjective performance targets.
+ Strong control systems background applied to embedded systems (e.g., state feedback, adaptive, model predictive control).

+ You have strong knowledge of complex systems development methodologies and aerospace development assurance standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178, and DO-254. Familiarity with DO-160, DO-297, human factors, or flight crew interface certification considerations is an asset.
+ You ideally have some exposure to new or emerging technologies in flight deck avionics, especially where these technologies affect certification, integration, or development assurance aspects.
+ You have practical experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices and tools.
+ You are effective at bringing disciplines together, clarifying responsibilities, structuring complex problems, and ensuring that aircraft-level decisions are properly documented, justified, verified, and certifiable.
+ You are open-minded, curious, rigorous and methodical.
+ You strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork and support knowledge sharing amongst team members.
+ You possess strong analytical and systems-thinking skills to structure complex problems and maintain clarity across disciplines.
