Job Overview

Responsibilities

Look after feeding and health of calves, heifers and dairy cows

• Perform and follow our calving protocol

• Mix feed as part of our feeding program

• Follow safety and bio-security procedures

• Detect and treat health problems (Mastitis, Twisted stomachs, Hardware)

• Maintain livestock health records

• Assist with livestock sales decisions

• Monitor feed intake, check barn temperature

• Clipping and cleaning cattle

• Maintain inventory of feed and bedding supplies

• Supervise general farm labourers

• Take on full management responsibilities when owners are absent

Qualifications

• Experience around large animals an asset
• Strong interest in agriculture work
• Willing to train the right individual
