Working closely with the Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the barn. This includes a variety of physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, lifting (up to 25kg), and continuous walking. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Feeding and providing general care for pigs.
  • Maintaining herd health and clean and safe environment for pigs.
  • Pressure washing and preparing rooms for animal entry.
  • Performing minor maintenance and sanitation tasks.
  • Completing clerical duties such as maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication.
  • Following all health and safety policies and adhering to Canada Packers’ SOPs for humane animal treatment.
What you’ll bring:
  • Commitment to wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols.
  • Availability for weekend, holiday, and alarm shifts on a rotational basis.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to a rural location.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously.

About The Role:
Vancouver South Animal Hospital is lookingu00a0for another full time RVT to join our growingu00a0team.u00a0 We have been in the South Vancouver Community for many years, well-established as a high-quality and fear-free practice. We are a hospital with 2 hard-working DVMs and a passionate support team. We are currently in the building stages of a brand new location 2 blocks up from our existingu00a0location. If you would like to be part of our skilled and unique team and be involved in the exciting process of our new location, please apply! Our ideal Registered Veterinary Tech (RVT) builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. The RVT also assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures, by using a range of diagnostic equipment, preparing patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; and administering and monitoring medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian.
u00a0We are a hospital open 7 days a week, and we are in need of consistent Sunday coverage to supplement our existing Sunday team.
