JOB SUMMARY

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work 45 hours per week

The TD Equipment Finance team is a Centre of Excellence within Business Banking. Our mandate is to structure equipment financing (leases and loans) for business clients and prospects as an alternative to other conventional bank sources of financing such as term loans.

Reporting to the Manager Documentation - Ontario, GTA, Prairie, & Pacific, TD Equipment Finance (TDEF), this position is responsible for managing documentation for new originations and sales support for clients. Assigned to two or more Account Executives the role supports sales processes throughout new originations.
+ Leverage proficiency of various software applications/programs to ensure timely and accurate preparation of documentation; strong knowledge of T-Value, PPSA/RDPRM governing rules and their Registration processes is an asset.
+ Functions include coordination of transactions with vendors, customers, bankers and Account Executives, securing necessary transaction documentation, preparing documents and initiating the funding process.
+ Work with Legal and Credit departments (or other functions as necessary) to facilitate the completions of the transactions.
+ Obtain/compile documentation as required to meet AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customers) guidelines
+ Register/assess transactions for PMSI/RDPRM priority and, as required, review searches and obtain waivers.
+ Respond to customer service inquiries and interface directly with external TDEF customers when necessary.
+ Assist in identifying viable solutions to make deals work.
+ Deliver legendary customer service at every interaction and execute on plans to improve the customer experience.

Provides business analytics and reporting to functional areas or projects/programs. Identifies and develops metrics by working with users and stakeholders to understand data visualization and reporting requirements. Scope of Position: You should have the ability to develop opportunities in the various aspects of customs from our Canadian and international offices. You must be comfortable working closely with clients, staff, the CBSA and other government agencies. Strong communication skills will be required to be able achieve your goals with clients, the government and the team.
Classify our clients' products using a working knowledge and demonstrated ability to properly navigate and interpret the Harmonized Tariff System. You must possess the ability to read, understand and apply the general rules of interpretation (GRI's), section & chapter notes and have a good understanding of Customs' rulings, including Customs' ruling database.
The Senior Consultant will need to understand import valuation and the trade agreements that Canada is a party to. They will need to have the ability to manage their projects and work closely with the team to complete the projects within the requited time limits.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
+ Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification of imported products
+ Researching and interpreting Customs rulings for HS classification determination
+ Research OGA, ADD/CVD, Quota/Permit requirements
+ Effectively use reference sources, such as the HS Tariff schedule and Explanatory Notes
+ Prepare, submit and manage binding classification ruling requests to the CBSA.
+ Working knowledge of Customs Valuation and its interpretation.
+ Understanding of international trade agreements
+ Understanding of Canadian export regulations
+ Understanding of and experience working within the CBSA CARM Client Portal
+ Communicating with domestic and international clients' offices, building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships
+ Corresponding with the CBSA.
+ Active participation in the sales process including attending meetings with clients.
+ Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to management, peers and clients
+ Mentor and guide junior team members.
+ Meet company standard of 52 hours of training per year
+ Be dedicated to the success of Tradewin using ethical business practices at all times
Reporting Structure: The Senior Consultant, in most cases, would report to the Manager or Principal.
+ Either CCS or CTCS are preferred
+ Canadian Customs Broker License or willingness to actively obtain
+ Demonstrated customer service skills and proven interpersonal skills
+ Minimum 5 years' experience in an international trade environment
+ Required knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, CRM
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Superior analytical skills with a strong ability to logically document and explain processes
+ Investigative and problem-solving skills

**What You'll Do**

+ **Certifications** : Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - required
+ **Education** : University Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or similar
+ **Technical** : Strong understanding of enterprise networking in a multi‑site environment, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, wireless technologies, physical media, and network security (firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation), along with hands‑on experience monitoring networks, troubleshooting incidents using logs/data, and supporting deployments and upgrades.
+ **Professional** : Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, produce effective documentation, manage competing priorities, and continuously learn in a dynamic IT/OT operating environment.
+ **Travel:** up to 40%, must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, be comfortable flying, renting a car and driving to remote locations across Canada and the USA, and have a personal credit or debit card to charge travel expenses and submit for reimbursement.
