**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
Coordinate international shipments with customs, freight forwarders, logistics providers, couriers, and other external contacts.
Maintain site compliance with global trade policies and requirements.
Generate export documents, restricted and non-restricted articles paperwork on hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Schedule and expedite all air and truck shipments in a timely manner based on weekly shipping schedules and update actual ship information as required.
Audit outgoing shipments for discrepancies and build packing slips to maintain traceability and records of items in each shipment and skid.
Ensure maintenance of HTS commodity codes for all items and products in the NAV database as per global trade compliance policies and export requirements.
Maintain documents, files, and records to document activities and provide reliable resource information.
Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, receive, and store goods as required.
Support receiving processes and verify incoming goods against purchase orders or other documents, record discrepancies, and provide feedback to Purchasing. Route goods to appropriate storage areas.
Monitor accurate inventory placement and labelling of warehouse systems, VLM carousel, and storage areas at all times and inform the warehouse coordinator of any issues.
Contribute to yearly physical inventory processes and conduct inventory checks as required.
Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the Materials Manager.
**Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:**
2-year college diploma with 3 yearsu2019 experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience managing domestic and international inbound and outbound traffic across several transportation modes including ocean, truck, air, and LTL.
Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse inventory management, and ERP systems.
Experience in forklift (counterbalance) operation in a warehouse environment is a must.
**Knowledge & Skills:**
Knowledge of logistics, customs, and warehouse processes.
Knowledge of global trade compliance regulations and incoterms.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is considered an asset.
Computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel (or equivalent) are required.
Frequent walking, bending, and reaching required; frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills; listening, verbal, and written.
Ability to problem-solve and identify potential issues.

Forwards documents to the customer as required.
General office duties, as required.
Liaison with vendors/suppliers as required.
Setting up Purchase Orders.
Fulfill product once it's delivered
Pulling all online orders.
Maintain all required documentation for the fleet
Manage content for the Logistics System
Identify potential system/process improvements
Coordinate with mechanics for required truck maintenance or repairs
Ability to work with NetSuite/Oracle or ECI Spruce software (an asset).
Represent Van Beeks Landscape Supply in a professional manner in all situations.
10 hour shifts, including Saturdays for Spring/early Summer, when required. Extra hours during peak season.

We are looking for a driven, and well-rounded leader who takes pride in producing top quality work and who enjoys leading and mentoring a globally distributed logistics and claims resolution team.

Reporting to Director of Operations, this position will be an integral part of the operations and will lead the logistics and claims teams, manage relationships with supply chain partners, ensure smooth orders flow and take ownership of processes and systems required to optimize existing services and launch new supply chain services.

Part of this role will demand wearing multiple hats from hands on to team leadership, customer service, requiring the individual to influence peers and superiors, while ensuring smooth running and improving the business by collaborating with internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the logistics team to achieve operational excellence, increase employee engagement and improve customer experience.
  • Manage freight carrier relationships to improve the service level and pricing and lead the new services launch to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Run multiple process improvement initiatives by rolling out trainings, creating and updating SOPs etc. in partnership with various teams.
  • Manage claims resolution team and help refine and manage KPIs for customer resolution and satisfaction.
  • Act as an escalation point of contact for complex deliveries and claims and ensure customer satisfaction by providing best in class post-conversion experience.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as accounting, business intelligence and warehousing to manage the supply chain core and customer service KPIs and reduce cost.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in supply chain and logistics with customer service experience.
  • 3-5 years people management experience managing a team in the supply chain domain including experience with performance development, goal setting, and career progression.
  • Experience identifying when supply chain partners or internal system issues are causing service delays and making recommendations to resolve.
  • Experience working with heavyweight LTL delivery experience an asset.
  • Experience working in Retail is an asset.
  • Strong people skills with ability to mentor and support the team to manage priorities and workload.
  • Self-starter and able to work in a fast paced challenging and uncertain environment.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
