The Position: Social Work Supervisor

The Social Work supervisor provides leadership and oversight for Calgary Seniors' Social Work department, ensuring programs and services remain responsive, innovative, and high-impact. The Construction Work Planner is located in Pickering and typically reports directly to the CWP Supervisor. The Construction Work Planner is responsible for understanding, walking down and creating planned work orders in the work management system for the purpose of project implementation activities for various contracts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all Black and McDonald's Quality Managed system procedures for work planning
  • Interpret design documents for scope installation
  • Preparation of inspection and test plans
  • Work with Project Managers/teams to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects to ensure work packages are created, processed and delivered
  • Conduct analysis to determine duration of project activities and identify interdependencies to meet project scope of work
  • Provide support to other stakeholders and groups as required
  • Follow all related Managed System Procedures as they relate to Construction/Maintenance work packages
  • Assist with the estimation of new bids for the purposes of supplying hours for Work Planning functions

The Position: Social Work Supervisor


The Social Work supervisor provides leadership and oversight for Calgary Seniors' Social Work department, ensuring programs and services remain responsive, innovative, and high-impact. This role is responsible for ensuring high standards of practice, continuous improvement, and service excellence that align with Calgary Seniors' mission and strategic vision.


The Social Work department is comprised of four key programs: In Place, Outreach, SeniorConnect. and Emergency Supports. This position ensures a client-centered focus across all social work programs, integrating best practices in case management, crisis response, advocacy, and system navigation to support vulnerable seniors. The Social Work Supervisor works closely with internal teams and social workers to ensure a seamless and effective experience for seniors in need.


Additionally, this role is responsible for assistance in social work-related projects, including grant-funded initiatives. This involves assisting with the implementation of new and existing projects, and managing timelines and reporting requirements.

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables


Program Leadership & Development

• Work directly with the Manager of Social Work and assist in the leadership of the Social Work department, ensuring services are client-centered, trauma-informed, and aligned with best practices in gerontology and social work.

• Supervise Social Work Teams towards the meeting of program goals.

• Assist Manager of Social Work in the development of policies and service standards, ensuring alignment with Calgary Seniors’ strategic plan and Outcome Framework Actions (Self-Determination, Agency, and Connection).

• Assist Manager of Social Work in social work-related projects, including grant-funded initiatives, ensuring successful execution and alignment with organizational priorities.

• Perform direct service delivery duties as required to support operational needs

• Monitor safety procedures and respond promptly to alerts or calls to ensure timely support and escalation as needed


Operational Oversight & Service Excellence

• Ensure seamless coordination of social work services, including intake processes, case assignment, and service delivery.

A highly skilled and experienced Temporary Works Design Lead to oversee the design and

management of temporary works. This position will be responsible for leading, supervise the

design and implementation of temporary works solutions, including scaffolding, formwork, shoring,

and other temporary structural elements. The Temporary Works Design Lead will ensure that all

designs meet safety, regulatory, and project requirements while coordinating effectively with

engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
