Under close supervision, the Technician I performs minor routine maintenance and repair services on different types of vehicles. Works with the assistance of a T2, T3, T4, TIC SS or SM, when performing technical and diagnostic type repairs. Task assignments are directed by shop management to encourage development in a productive manner.
Essential Functions
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance. Perform component identification and minor repairs. Perform preventive maintenance with training and support. Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable. Identifies root cause of "minor" failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT,MOT)

We are currently seeking a Quick Lube Technician to join our team of customer focused professionals within our high volume and process-driven dealership.
Purpose/Summary of Position:
The Quick Lube Technician is responsible to service vehicles, including providing preventative and routine maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
• Perform Certified Service including preventative and routine maintenance on vehicles.
• Changing Oil, Oil Filters, Air Filters, Light Bulbs, and checking fluids.
• Changing, balancing and rotating tires.
• Maintaining tidiness of the shop
• Attention to detail with excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• WHIMIS standards to ensure chemicals/equipment is being handled in a safe manor & ensure you are compliant in using them.
• Willingness to comply with all company policies and uphold standards for service quality.
Candidates must possess:
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum High School Diploma
• Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in the automotive industry or related work environment is considered and asset

Vancouver Honda is currently looking to fill the position of a Lube Technician.
Essential Duties:
- Perform oil and filter changes using manufacturer-recommended oil grades, quantities, and procedures.
- Inspect and top off all essential fluids (coolant, brake, transmission, washer, etc.).
- Check and adjust tire pressures; perform visual tire inspections and report wear or damage.
- Mount, balance, and rotate tires using tire machines and wheel balancers.
- Assist in the removal and installation of exhaust system components including mufflers, pipes, and catalytic converters.
- Replace and test exterior vehicle light bulbs (headlights, taillights, turn signals), ensuring proper function and alignment.
- Test, remove, install, and service vehicle batteries, including cleaning terminals and securing connections.
- Replace windshield wiper blades and verify proper operation for safe driving conditions.
- Assist in diagnosing and addressing common water leaks (e.g., weather seals, drain tubes, gaskets).
- Perform minor interior and exterior trim repairs or replacements (e.g., door panels, clips, moldings).
- Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and communicate findings to service advisors and senior technicians.
- Adhere to all safety standards and shop procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
All successful applicants must possess the following qualities:
- Automotive service experience or technical training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and basic shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically active environment.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with tire mounting/balancing equipment and fluid exchange machines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the automotive service field.
