Responsibilities
The Maintenance Millwright will support Factory needs in regards to all equipment to achieve plan and improve on process efficiency and performance, support, and actively manage troubleshooting and preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment availability, reduce unplanned stoppages, reduce energy and water usage.
+ Ensures compliance to health, food safety, and regulatory requirements of all products manufactured.
+ Ensures the working areas and installations in the factory complies, operates and are maintained and working in accordance with the standards and Good Manufaturing Practices (GMP)
+ Maintain plant assets and equipment to enable 24/7 operation
+ Troubleshoots, diagnose and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production packaging
+ Completion of all scheduled Preventative, Predictive and Planned maintenance activities
+ Analysis of failures to prevent re-occurrence, including creating new PM standards
+ Maintain and improve maintenance shop standards
+ Respond to breakdown calls as needed
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Red Seal Certification
+ Experience in Food Processing or Manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
+ Experience with PLC, and VFD programming considered an asset
+ Welding and fabricating experience
+ Machining equipment experience; Lathe and milling maching
+ Electrical knowledge would be an asset
+ Experience with CMMS & Process Software such as SAP
+ Strong communication skills
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills
+ Ability to be self-managed and organized
+ Possess analytical skills and capacity to gather & evaluate large quantities of data

**Key Accountabilities**
- Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
- Operating standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools, preventative maintenance technology tools, etc.
- Utilize and work with maintenance trades and components such as electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Modifying or building equipment by reading and comprehending electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals
- Documenting completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary
- Interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment
- Operating forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts
- Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
+ Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator
+ Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

- Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Experience performing maintenance trades such as welding, pipefitting, fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearings, lubrication, pump and piping systems, or hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience with safe work practices, such as Pre-Job Hazard Analysis (PJHA), confined spaces, job task permitting, etc.
- Trade school certification or degree in a maintenance related field, or relevant military experience
- Experience with precision maintenance, such as laser alignment and/or dial indication
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word

What You'll Do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment with a strong sense of urgency, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

• Complete preventive maintenance work orders, accurately account for spare parts usage and labor, and maintain records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

• Maintain and repair equipment such as unscramblers, inkjet coders, conveyors, labelers, fillers, cappers, torquers, case erectors, tape machines, and case coders.

• Uphold GMP standards by maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of work order documentation and reporting.
• Support production lines with equipment changeovers, setups, and assist in training production staff on proper equipment use, cleaning, and adjustments.
• Identify and report workplace hazards and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, GDP, and GMP requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Welding License required, with previous fabrication experience.
• Post-secondary education required.
• Knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed filling, labeling, and packaging machines.
• Knowledge of packaging line setup, adjustment, and maintenance.
• Licensed as an Industrial Millwright, Machinist, or in Welding Fabrication.

Class 2 $8.50 (4 plus years Industrial Mechanic)

Class 3 40.31 (Industrial Mechanic Millwright Red Seal 433A) Proof of Qualification Required!

DUTIES

1. Mechanic will need to ensure that all necessary repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance work requests are carried out on his assigned shift.
2. You will have ability to interpret schematic drawings and fabricate using welding skills.
3. Mechanic will participate in the Canada Brick health & safety, 6S housekeeping and environmental programs.
4. Mechanic will assist other members of the Maintenance & Production Departments to ensure minimal downtime.
5. Any parts that have been removed or replaced will be tagged for repair “in house” or contracted out, you will also make Lead Mechanics are aware of these repairs verbally or in writing.
6. The plant, air, gas, and water system will require maintenance. This will require basic pipefitting and plumbing skills.
7. As the Shift Mechanic you will provide your own hand tools (Metric/Standard) to complete any repairs.
8. Actively assist with Production changeovers, Kiln Car repairs & lubrication as required.
9. Reports Maintenance requests to the Supervisor and/or Lead Hands for scheduling time.
10. Actively participates in maintenance shutdowns scheduled or unscheduled overtime will be required at times.

*And any other duties as required by Maintenance Superintendent, Maintenance Lead Hand, or Production Supervisor, when the need arises.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

3 to 4 plus years Maintenance Mechanic experience.

Certified Millwright qualifications would be an asset.

Conveying, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical, Pipefitting, Welding and Plumbing skills.

An understanding of PLC and VFD System.

Ability to work efficiently alone and in team settings.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma / Maintenance Trade Courses.
