General Maintenance Worker
Position Overview:
The Part-Time General Maintenance Worker provides essential maintenance, repair, and general upkeep services for company facilities and properties. This role ensures that all areas are well-maintained, safe, and functional, supporting the smooth operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance tasks, including fixing drywall, flooring, doors, windows, and fixtures.
- Address minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues as needed.
- Repair or replace damaged equipment and amenities.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Conduct periodic inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of storage areas for tools and supplies.
- General Upkeep:
- Perform landscaping, snow removal, and seasonal maintenance tasks as requested.
- Ensure common areas, office spaces, and retail locations are clean, safe, and presentable.
- Support Projects & Installations:
- Assist with setup or teardown of equipment, fixtures, or displays.
- Support ongoing renovation or improvement projects as directed.
- Equipment & Tool Management:
- Maintain and care for tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools/equipment for repair or replacement.
- Ad hoc Tasks:
- Complete any additional maintenance or repair duties assigned by management to support daily operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven general repair or maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Access to vehicle and a G Driver’s license.
Job Location:
· Beyond Wireless Head Office – located in Sudbury, ON.
· Stack Brewing – located in Greater Sudbury, ON.
· Adventure 365 – located in Sudbury, ON.
Hourly Rate of Pay:
· $25 to $35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Hours:
· 10 to 24 hours per week

The Role:
The Engineering Department’s employees are the keepers of maintaining the hotel. SUMMARY: The General Maintenance/Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. The position will also support in repairing, maintaining, overhauling and installing a variety of machinery, including pumps, motors, grinders, blowers, compressors, presses, injection systems and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The incumbent will be reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
ROLE:
- To plan and assist in the implementation of a rigorous, preventative maintenance program as well as a predictive maintenance program to minimize the plant’s downtime.
- Troubleshoot all phases of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems of all plant equipment.
- Work alongside, give direction and/or assist outside contractors whom have been hired to assist the organization.
- Have a solid understanding and the ability to program and troubleshoot in-plant PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) system.
- Dismantle, clean, and re-assemble equipment as needed.
- Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up.
- Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production.
- Coordinate and report on all equipment defects and/or failures to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in workplace safety and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety standards in accordance with current legislation and Active Exhaust’s Health and Safety Policy and best practices.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- A college diploma in Electro-Mechanical (Robotics) program
- Minimum 5 years' Industrial Electrician experience is an asset with preference given to those with a background in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of hydraulic, pumps and compressors, pneumatic and PLC controls, math skills and strong troubleshooting ability
- Ability to understand blueprints and specifications
- Must be computer literate (including familiarity with Microsoft office suite)
- Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours and perform on call support as required in support of plant operations
- Demonstrates initiative and can work both independently and/or as part of a team
- Analytical thinker with the ability to take a logical approach to problem-solving

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance:
- Responsible for ensuring the property and product are in a condition that exceeds our guests’ expectations;
- Identify and rectify general maintenance issues within the property;

General repairs and clean up may include: roll-up door repairs, latch repairs, caulking, weatherproofing, minor roof repairs, basic concrete work, basic metal work, basic fence/gate repair, lighting, basic electrical troubleshooting, basic carpentry, landscaping, snow removal, grading, garbage disposal, and general renovation/restoration. Front line support for property-related tasks, as directed.

General Building Maintenance
Access Property Development is seeking a Maintenance Associate to join our maintenance team.
As a team member with the largest Canadian owned self-storage operator with stores nationally, you will be responsible to support the upkeep of our properties to ensure an exceptional impression of our stores to our clients by cleaning and sanitizing buildings, general maintenance, as well as, maintaining exterior curb appeal.
The ideal candidate is an energetic and highly motivated individual who is detail oriented, flexible, and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises.

General repairs and clean up may include ;
- some construction and/or maintenance experience in any or all of the following:
- wood framed and metal building assembly including vestibules, roofs, foundations and forms
- anchoring wall items of varying weights and sizes to all building assemblies
- modifying and/or making adjustments to doors and windows
- installing and removing metal panels, doors, light fixtures, chain link fencing
- some experience with winter and summer grounds service
- snow clearing with skid steerers, plow trucks, and handheld power tools
- good communication and necessary skills to work with the client and maintenance team
- document all activities through pictures, scanning and emailing of documents and/or invoices, bills of lading, etc.
- provide daily and/or weekly status reports on all activities to immediate supervisor
- effectively utilize an online application for repair and maintenance tickets with a mobile phone
Requirements :
- High school or general education degree
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in various positions and stand/kneel/squat/bend for extended periods. Comfortable working outdoors
- Previous Janitorial/light maintenance experience
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, repairs, maintenance requirements
- Clear criminal record
- Valid driver’s license and daily access and use of a reliable vehicle; travel between locations will be required
- Skid steer experience is an asset
- Ability to obtain licensing for aerial lifts, fork-lifts, scissor-lifts, and construction equipment as required
- Good working knowledge of digital communications, including smartphones and email
- Available for occasional after-hours emergencies
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
