POSITION SUMMARY :
To perform maintenance functions at manufacturing facilities located in Barrhead;
coordinate and assist and perform equipment maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with leadership and production associates and supervisors to improve efficiencies
- Perform regular checks on production equipment
- Lubricate and check all motors on a daily basis or as required
- Assure boiler is being appropriately maintained
- Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program
- Install, repair & program machines and equipment
- Maintain critical inventory levels of all parts and equipment needed for production
- Keep the maintenance shop and work areas clean and organized as per GMP/ISO requirements
- Work with manager(s) to determine and address maintenance needs
- Assist in problem diagnosis; confer with outside representatives as needed
- Assist with the success of production and product handling when necessary
- Be an available resource for facility remodeling projects
- Responsible for self-involvement, team involvement and execution of tasks relative to achieving annual departmental goals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Journeyman Millwright or 3rd year apprentice, preferred with 3-5 year’s maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, understanding and knowledge of PLC’s
- Knowledge of and skilled in the safe execution of the following: electrical, electronic test equipment; mechanical and production equipment repair, operating procedures and techniques; plumbing; use of power and basic hand tools; HVAC
- Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: stainless steel welding, Boiler operations certified preferred and knowledge of OSHA regulations and Programmable Logic Controller Skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to powder mineral products, cleaning chemicals, restricted movement, dirty environment, hazardous materials, lifting and carrying heavy objects

Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and as needed preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and industrial equipment.
- Perform basic and advanced repairs on molds including fixing patches, flanges, dents, cracks, frameworks etc.
- Perform maintenance and repair on forklifts including oil changes, air filters, hydraulic oil changes, tire changes, as well as replacement of hoses, engines, and brakes.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues within equipment including oven burners and gas trains.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair basic electrical issues.
- Partner with engineering and/or electrical experts to diagnose complex non-mechanical problems.
- Consistently adhere to and champion safety procedures.
- Ability to assemble and use MIG & TIG welders with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Ability to replace bearings, adjust chain or belt tension, and replace sprockets.
- Ability to complete preventative maintenance, replacements and rebuilds of motors, gearboxes, and drives.
- Ability to complete preventative maintenance on hoists.
- Ability to conduct basic electrical maintenance including identify/isolation of hazards, read electrical schematics and complete component repair and replacement.
- Proficiency and understanding of air compressor maintenance.
- Proficiency with power hand tools
- At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- A high-school diploma or GED equivalent
- Rotational molding experience (preferred)

Primary Responsibilities:
Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Occasionally road-test vehicles
Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred
Driveru2019s license
The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually

Work Environment:
The work involves manual labor and the ability to work safely and to be alert at all times. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, safety shoes, goggles, gloves or shields.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties required, you should be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted. You will also be moving frequently, standing, sitting and moving beneath equipment.

Job Description
**Responsibilities:**
- Proactively troubleshoot and correct problems with control systems, scaling systems, or any electric or electronic systems on the production equipment
- Conduct routine scheduled maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance program
- Carry out installation and modification work - mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration
- Hazardous material handling
- Be familiar with and take a lead role in emergency situations
- Be observant and take initiative when a fault is detected
- Report daily activities
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in your work area and in the maintenance shop
- Carry out repairs on equipment and buildings not associated with the production lines. (ie. cold store equipment, yard lighting, forklifts, trucks, office fittings and facilities, building fabric, etc…)
- Maintain and adhere to the required hygiene, safety, and quality standards on the production floor
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
- Millwright Certification required
- Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude preferred
- Class “B” Refrigeration license would be an asset
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Strong working knowledge of Siemens and Allan Bradley PLCs and frequency drives
- Experience in a food manufacturing facility would be an asset along with knowledge of food safety and HACCP
- Prior involvement with Continuous Improvement projects
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative
- Flexibility to undertake other work that may be assigned from time to time which may be outside the area of normal duties
- Must be able to work a 1**2-hour rotating continental day shift** schedule
