**What your day to day will look like?**
As part of the Plant 41 multidisciplinary team, the Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for processing parts through the manufacturing line utilizing multi-skilling abilities in a 24-7 environment, 12 hour shift environment. The selected candidate must be able to work all shift hours, including night shift.
The operator will be expected to perform multiple tasks throughout the line and must be fully aware of export control requirements and adhere to expectations.
Specifically, you will:
+ Work within a highly specialized team to establish and achieve high expectations, goals and daily targets.
+ Maintain an engaged attitude.
+ Manage multiple tasks at various levels of completion, using the best use of time and resources to complete work.
+ Use specialized equipment, related software and systems such as, but not limited to, robotics, machine logic, tooling, Human - Machine Interface (HMI), and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) grinding, milling, part marking and ATTI.
+ Set up, monitor and troubleshoot automated manufacturing center equipment.
+ Facilitate continuous improvement by using tools such as Kaizen events and CORE Operating System.
+ Keep current with job requirements, products, computer technology (e.g. MS Office products), and company policies.
+ Actively participate in the development of processes and standard work documents that will create a productive, self-sustaining cell that operates at the highest CORE level.
+ Be actively involved in maintaining training documentation (OJT's , Standard Work) and leading area training as required.
+ Perform routine maintenance tasks (TPM walk arounds) and assist maintenance with PM activities.
+ Work with the various Plant 41 support areas to ensure cell success and compliance

**Manufacturing Clerk**
What a Manufacturing Clerk does at Bausch:
As a member of the production team, you will be crucial in the maintaining production efficiency and product quality. In this position, you will adhere to production guidelines, accurately documenting processes, and monitoring product quality. The role will be proactive reporting of issues and proposing improvements, ensures operational excellence and safety protocols are upheld throughout production processes.
+ Perform filling, operating, and packaging tasks for the Arestin Unit following established procedures.
+ Ensure adherence to production steps specified in production sheets.
+ Complete production documentation accurately and promptly; monitor and control product quality, reporting process deviations to management as necessary.
+ Conduct product inspections as needed and maintain equipment availability.
+ Maintain workstation and equipment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
+ Participate in teamwork, contribute to developing new methods, and maintain technical qualifications.
+ Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
+ Verify equipment, materials, and premises for functionality and compliance, use equipment properly.
+ Inform team leader/manager of encountered issues, adhering to production standards.
+ Assemble equipment, wash premises, and complete batch files and packaging documents.
+ Take necessary measures to ensure safety and integrity during anomalies.
+ Record entries in production management systems.
+ Work in compliance with GMP and HSE standards, applying directives daily.
+ Promptly report quality or HSE concerns to management and propose improvements.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Secondary minimum V or equivalent, DEP or DEC
+ 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical industry or related field as an employee or operator
+ Technical knowledge of processes/products Knowledge of production tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret detailed documentation such as drawings, assembly procedures, routing cards, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Working as part of a skilled team by assemble components and assemblies by hand, keeping to rigorous manufacturing tolerances.
  • Work from detailed manufacturing procedures and product documentation.
  • Use a variety of skilled assembly techniques including bonded assembly, encapsulation, and use of hand tools to fasten, attach and secure parts
  • Prepare materials for assembly using solvent cleaning and abrasive surface preparation.
  • Use various chemicals, adhesives, and compounds to encapsulate and bond parts.
  • Record actions taken by completing production and quality forms in accordance with ISO9001 requirements.
  • Identify products or parts that do not meet quality standards and follow quarantine procedures as required.
  • Utilize a variety of test, measurement equipment in the verification of product specifications
  • Affix labels, company logos and exterior details to products and packages completed products for shipment
  • Maintain a clean, hazard free work-station by cleaning and maintain equipment, tidying production floor and complying with health and safety procedures, rules and regulations.


Qualifications



  • High school diploma/GED equivalent, and/or relevant workplace experience.

  • Experience working in a detailed, hands-on assembly environment.

  • Soldering experience with good dexterity and the ability to solder to IPC-A_610 and IPC-620 class 3 standards considered an asset.

  • Proficient computer literacy.

  • Strong reading comprehension, writing and documentation skills.

  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) engineering documentation.

  • Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS certification (or ability to successfully obtain).

POSITION SUMMARY

Manufacturing Engineer (ME) works closely with and supports the production team by providing technical support on issues related to the coach build. Builds include but are not limited to concept, prototype, pilot, first and production builds. ME will assist production with the first and subsequent builds of new systems and proto type designs; prepare proposed design changes or revisions and assist with accuracy audits and root cause analysis, as well as participate in continuous improvement events.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Assists production with the first and subsequent builds of new systems or revisions to existing systems.
  • Assists with production planning tasks ensuring plant is ready for upcoming coaches.
  • Provides point of use routing and the assembly sequence for all components through the subassembly and coach assembly line.
  • Prepares proposed design changes or revisions to correct the current design.
  • Continually identifies, suggests and implements cost reduction projects to reduce the overall cost of the coach.
  • Assists with audits that measure the bill of material and routing accuracies; identifying root cause of inaccuracies.
  • Reviews tooling and fixture needs to improve the assembly process.
  • Researches the latest technology and manufacturing practices or identifies improvements to current practices/ processes and introduces these into production.
  • Prepares documentation for production as needed to ensure coaches are built per coach design and customer requirements (procedures, work instructions, visual aids, etc.)
  • Attends Problem solving meetings where a cross functional team will review given areas and make marked improvements in process.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Certified Mechanical/Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineer or Engineering Technologist or acceptable equivalent of education and/or experience.
  • One to five-year experience in a manufacturing setting preferable in transportation, automotive or bus
  • industry.
  • Familiarity/experience in a Six sigma, LEAN, JIT environment.
  • English language fluency (read, write, speak and understand).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and documentation (e.g. blue prints).
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision and process oriented.
  • Computer skills: typing, ability to use of Microsoft Office and Windows, etc.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or CAD/CAM software is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with people in a manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct manufacturability assessments for new products, collaborating closely with Design Engineering and Customers.
  • Identify efficient production methods and provide accurate product costing information.
  • Design and procure tooling, fixtures, and production auxiliaries using 3D parametric software (Solid Edge, Solidworks).
  • Provide technical support to Production, addressing quality, process, and tooling challenges.
  • Lead product prototyping, design changes, and testing alongside the Production team.
  • Develop production standards, and workflows, and perform time studies.
  • Create and optimize manufacturing systems, integrating equipment and data automation.
  • Collaborate with production leads and support functions to enhance fabrication, assembly, and supply chain processes.
  • Plan facility layouts for optimal workflow and setup techniques.
  • Drive efficiency projects, reducing waste and enhancing overall performance.
  • Research, program, test, and operate cutting-edge equipment (CNC Machines, Ro/Cobots, software).
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Experience with DFM, PFMEA, and Lean/ Six Sigma fundamentals is a plus
  • Knowledge in 2D and Solid modeling using Solidworks or other 3D Solid model concepts.
  • Understanding of manufacturing management processes including BOM, ERP, and resource and capacity.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required to communicate with manufacturing personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Excellent writing skills to publish reports, work instructions, and company procedures.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (<10%).
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to implement change.
