The opportunity
dcbel is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer that will be responsible for the industrialization, optimization, and continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual contributor with at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is willing to get directly involved to drive results.
Main responsibilities
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) ramp-up and training at contract manufacturer sites. Maintain issue logs and track issues to resolution.
- Populate ERP, MRP, and PLM systems with accurate production data.
- Own part quality, process optimization, and supplier industrialization throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor production throughput and quality metrics; recommend and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop, map, and optimize manufacturing process flows, takt times.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure alignment with dcbels quality and manufacturing standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure robust error-proofing (poka-yoke) is built into manufacturing processes.
- Lead and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests) efficiently, preventing recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost reduction, waste elimination, lead-time improvements, and quality enhancement.
- Actively participate in design reviews with dcbel Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability and develop effective DFM (Design for Manufacturability) strategies in collaboration with suppliers.
Key requirements
- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience and proven ability.
- 5+ years experience working with electromechanical products; quality management experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and data analysis.
- Willingness to travel 3040%, sometimes on short notice.

YOUR DAY TO DAY :
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for technical assignments involving maximizing the manufacturability and maintaining timely product flow for the assigned products. The Manufacturing Engineer will implement and maintain efficient manufacturing equipment, processes and procedures; coordinating the introduction of new products into manufacturing, and identifying and solving production related problems, for assigned products.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR :
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Interfacing with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
- Estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, process qualifications, work instructions, and making recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing product lines.
- Create and maintaining required documentation for manufacturing processes, process-failure-mode-effects-analysis, value-stream-maps, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
- Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, poka-yoke, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
- Develop, evaluate, and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design materials and parts, fabrications processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Collaborating with Quality Engineering to monitor product yield, provide product factory / field failure root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

- Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering – prefer Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering
- 6-9 years relevant experience

We're Hiring: Manufacturing Engineer
Are you passionate about improving processes and solving technical challenges? Join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer and help drive innovation across our production and manufacturing operations.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of optimizing plant processes and equipment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the successful implementation of new systems and technologies. You'll work cross-functionally to identify efficiency opportunities while ensuring compliance with financial, regulatory (e.g., cGMP), and GAMP standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot and correct problems with production equipment and instrumentation systems.
- Provide technical support for existing production systems; Analyze, repair and maintenance requirements to proactively address system weaknesses.
- Lead, conduct and participate in root cause analysis and other process troubleshooting activities to support productivity improvements in operations.
- In cooperation with the QA team, develop validation documentation and implement validation plans, conduct commissioning of new equipment and develop preventative maintenance plans for equipment.
- Manage vendors and consultants to ensure key deliverables for projects and programs are met and coordinate the execution and implementation of assigned projects.
- Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits and during training of new employees on equipment
- Manage product launches on packaging lines by conducting appropriate trials to identify and implement required solutions to enable filling, labelling and capping of products.
- Author, review, revise, or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Participate in site improvement initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical, beverage, and food industries, with prior process engineering experience .
- Bachelors Degree in a related engineering field required
- Prior experience in a cGMP-regulated industry , including knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with environmental regulations and OSHA compliance required
