As our new Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
- Manage master files and BoMs . You will define and maintain essential production master files, including Item Masters, Phantoms, Process Plans, and Job Plans. You will ensure that BoM data is accurately loaded into ERP systems and aligned with material allocations and production planning. You will collaborate with estimating and cost accounting to support cost analysis and reconciliation.
- Drive process improvement . You will develop and implement efficient material management and production scheduling workflows. You will optimize routing processes for raw materials, subassemblies, and components. You will apply strategies such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Kanban, and Point of Use Material processes to enhance resource utilization and minimize lead times.
- Manage change control. You will assess the impact of engineering BoM changes on ongoing production, inventory, and procurement. You will ensure that all changes are accurately reflected in BoMs, process plans, and master files. By collaborating with key stakeholders, you will proactively manage material conflicts, delays, and change impacts.
- Analyze production performance . You will monitor and analyze production data, including direct and indirect hours, rework rates, and job exceptions. You will conduct time studies to ensure routing accuracy and generate detailed reports using Summary Sheets and KPIs. Through data-driven insights, you will identify bottlenecks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure safety and compliance. You will uphold all company safety, quality, and environmental policies. You will report any health and safety concerns to management and contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
You have:
- The experience. You have experience in manufacturing engineering, production planning, or materials management. Experience in Make-to-Order manufacturing environments is preferred. While not required, certifications such as APICS CPIM or a Supply Chain Management Certification are considered an asset. Experience interpreting CAD drawings and applying data analysis for process optimization is also beneficial.
- The technical expertise . You possess a strong understanding of ERP systems and business processes. You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, using functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and Macros. Experience with Power Query and BI tools is an asset. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is also preferred.
- The analytical mindset . You excel at using data analysis to solve complex manufacturing challenges. You can conduct time studies, assess BoM accuracy, and develop actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency. Duties:
- Assemble and tryout Hot Stamp forming dies for automotive parts.
- Maintain and organize job shelves as required.
- Deburring of die sets.
- Read 3D blueprint such as Smirt accurately.
- Preassembly of components prior to installation onto die sets.
- Drilling and tapping holes by hand that cannot be CNC machined.
- Running of water, hydraulic, nitrogen and pneumatic lines as per design.
- Assembly of die caps, as per design onto die sets with use of overhead crane.
- Adjust and fitting of components using manual grinding methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas including oil clean up, sweeping up steel or other misc. debris as required.
- Assist Toolmakers in presses during die alignment checks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Rotating Shifts, overtime may be required, works inside/outside plant.
