Our shop operates mostly on a straight day shift -6am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and 6am-12pm on Friday.We have high-end equipment and we make a very high-end product. Job Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc welding
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits.
- Assist in training, of junior employees and apprentices and inspecting their work.
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
- Other assigned work as required.
Requirements
- 2 years experience as a Welder/Fitter preferred.
- Experience in MIG welding
- Ability to weld aluminum a definite asset
- Ability to read and understand blueprints required
- Flexible and willing to work overtime as required
- Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid drivers license
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Quality mindset and strong attention to detail.
Work Conditions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Extremely busy environment must be able to work with little supervision
- Must be able to stay focused on the task at hand
- Overtime as required.

This individual will be responsible for delivering products within time, taste, functionality, quality, and cost expectations. In addition to working with and leading cross functional teams across facilities, this role will be hands on with leading, managing, and ultimately commercializing new products, Continuous Improvement projects, and Design to Value procurement opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all necessary channels of communication to facilitate customer needs. Create a culture of urgency within the R&D Department.
- Coach, mentor and develop the R&D staff.
- Maintain high awareness of consumers, technical trends, and new developments in the food industry, with strong emphasis on baking.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations and Marketing, to execute scale up and long-term planning.
- Work as a technical liaison between Sales and Customers.
- Work with Purchasing Department on Vendor Approval and Sourcing Alternate Raw Materials.
- Work on Product Improvement Opportunities with short- and long-term benefits including cost savings or efficiencies in operations.
- Consistently provide guidance as technical leader regarding solving technical, processing, and ingredient issues. Evaluate current and future technologies for recommendation of process improvements for cost savings and/or product improvement.
- Facilitate cross functional teams (marketing, sales, R&D) to integrate technical and culinary strengths in product development, with strong consumer and customer focus.
- Execute highly disciplined innovation process with a focus on commercial feasibility.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or similar discipline
- 10-15 years of product development or closely related experience in the food industry (bakery manufacturing), with 5 or more years of direct management of large technical group
- Experience with setting annual budgets, tracking and controlling expenses, and overall financial management of a technical department/group consisting of both personnel and technical components.
- Academic food science knowledge with product development, new technology creation, and food manufacturing experience of bakery products
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on SharePoint, Excel, and Word
- Ability to read and write correspondence which uses technical/scientific terminology.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proven Bakery or Functional Ingredient experience.
- This role will require travel up to 25% of the time.

The Quality Control Receipt Inspector is located in Pickering and typically reports directly to the Refurbishment QC Manager. The role of the Quality Control Receipt Inspector is to conduct daily receipt inspections at warehouse and site locations as per the PGR Quality Assurance Program. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that all items and accompanying documentation are inspected in line with the Purchase Order requirements and relevant Codes, Standards, and License commitments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs work activities safely and conscientiously, in compliance with the Black and McDonald Safety Program, and when at other locations, those of our client and sub-contractor locations, as well.
Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail within all Receipt Inspection activities.
Ensures B&M Counterfeit, Fraudulent or Suspect Items (CFSI) procedure is adhered to during all Receipt Inspection activities.
Interfaces with Project Management Team, Procurement, Warehouse Personnel, Field Personnel, Supplier and Client Personnel.
Performs surveillance and monitoring for B&M Special Processes, as required at sub-contractor locations.
Assists other QA personnel with the implementation and maintenance of the Measuring and Test Equipment (MTE) Program.
Identifies and controls nonconforming Items in accordance with Black & McDonald's procedures.
Ensures compliance with B&M and Client FME programs.
Interfaces with Regulatory Authorities when required.
Aids with the implementation of the Quality Management System and Programs within PGR.
Assists in preparation for and during regulatory auditing of QA Program activities at the Osborne location.
Participates in and ensures all company training program requirements are met and maintained.
