**The Opportunity:**
Our Nuclear subsector, a key component of WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients in the nuclear industry. Our team offers a wide range of services, including technical and feasibility studies, project management, detailed design, procurement, site management, quality surveillance, commissioning and asset management. This division is operating at an exciting time as nuclear power and new technology solutions are developing globally, with Canada as a leader in nuclear refurbishments, nuclear new builds, incredible capital projects portfolios and a deep history in nuclear supply chain.
WSP is currently seeking an experienced **Manufacturing Engineer, Nuclear** to join one of our Ontario offices. Several projects will potentially require travel to Tiverton, Ontario, Toronto Ontario, Saint John, New Brunswick, Pickering and Oshawa, Ontario.
The Manufacturing Engineer will establish and refine manufacturing procedures. This position will also prepare and maintain shop documentation conforming to quality system requirements and assess and resolve non-conforming conductions that affect the product. This position also will support the shop through facilities and equipment maintenance, upgrade or installation and designing tooling as required to support shop activities and safe work.

**What you can expect to do here:**
+ Prepare detailed shop routings and identify required resources, tooling, and operating procedures.
+ Resolve non-conforming conditions by assessing drawings, specifications, and quality standards; produce supplementary documentation and liaise with relevant personnel.
+ Develop and support procedures for Fitting, Welding, Machining, Assembly, and Testing.
+ Establish and maintain realistic time standards for shop performance and scheduling; conduct time studies.
+ Maintain database of shop tooling, consumables, gauges, and records of past practices.
+ Conduct pre-manufacturing reviews; identify and procure necessary tooling and fixtures.
+ Design and draft tooling, perform design analyses, create rigging plans/sketches, and assist with equipment procurement.
**What you'll bring to WSP:**
+ Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
+ Licensed Professional Engineer in province of residence.
+ 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or consulting environment with a focus on NUCLEAR.
+ Have a solid knowledge of Machine Guarding in accordance with CSA.
+ Knowledge of ASME Standards and Pressure Vessel Codes
+ Knowledge and demonstrated application of Statistical Process Control tools and principles.
+ Comfortable with common Microsoft Office software applications.
+ Knowledge and demonstrated application of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
+ Experience in the Nuclear industry.
+ Experience with AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D design software (or similar).

As the Client Solutions Manager, reporting to the Director of Client Solutions, you will be working directly with our commercial clients in delivering the world-class customer service Gallagher is so well known for. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Proper traying of meals on the assembly lines
- Portioning and labelling of meals
- Sorting and unboxing the frozen food and emptying it into the bin
- Receiving food products or shipping meals when required.
- Frequent lifting, repetitive movement, pushing and carrying of supplies and carts. (Maximum lifting 30 lb.)
- Frequent standing for long periods.
- Work will be performed in cold environment.
- Product may need to be obtained from fridge that is at 4ºC or lower or the freezer that is at -18 ºC.
- Equipment utilized; food carts, serving utensils, food preparation equipment.
- Attention to detail is a must

About the Role

  • Responsible for execution of production schedule in a timely manner and within all quality parameters to produce safe quality food
  • Set and communicate job expectations to hourly employees; planning of training; monitoring; appraising job results; coaching; employee discipline; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Proactive involvement in maintaining safety rules, conducting safety meetings, employee safety education, and improving safety awareness throughout the organization
  • Schedules equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements/targets are met on a timely basis
  • Adhere to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain the desired product quality results
  • Suggest changes in work flow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and/or production staff to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to effectively monitor production targets, financial efficiency, on-time delivery, continuous improvement efforts, and manufacturing issues
  • Ability to perform setup, operation, cleanup, for each line equipment
  • Work with the maintenance department to assist in prevention / rectification of breakdowns
  • Work with the Quality department to prevent and resolve quality issues and root cause analysis
  • Adhere to plant policies and procedures, including SQF, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Lead operation of the production team to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures are met, including those related to standard costs; cost reductions; productivity; health and safety; GMP; sanitation; customer satisfaction
  • Promote a focus on excellence in all production activities including those required to support optimal quality, yield, and cost containment, and minimal re-work
  • Work closely with senior management team to develop and enforce company quality, health & safety, and productivity goals while ensuring all targets are met and maintained.
  • Responsible for minimizing scrap and maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct labour tracking or production orders and demonstrate accountability on productivity of the operators

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in food processing or manufacturing environment, bakery experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Have knowledge of health and safety standards, SQF, HACCP & GMP
  • Degree or Diploma in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Science or related areas of focus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Microsoft Office knowledge required
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, time-management and leadership skills
  • Must be a strong leader and passionate about quality and food safety
  • Forklift licence and experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 30 pounds
  • Be able to stand for lengthy periods
  • Flexibility with work hours and the ability to work different shifts with overtime and weekends, as needed
