REPORTS TO: Operations Manager LOCATION : Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assembling, modifying, repairing and providing time estimates for cable while ensuring cable personnel stay on schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cable Assembly and Repair
- Keep track of hours for cable personnel
- Performs various types of soldering including surface mount, thru-hole, and hand-soldering.
- Assemble and repair cable as well as manage cable assembly for on-time completion of orders.
- Consults production schedule to prepare work area and equipment.
- Train new full-time and temporary cable personnel as required.
- Identify problems and help improve processes.
- Ensure that orders are completed to the highest quality standards.
- Ensure that company deadlines are met.
System Management
- Maintain, edit, and complete production orders.
- Inform the Operations Manager of any errors in Bill of Materials.
Parts Inventory
- Maintain accurate parts inventory for all components related to cable assembly and repair in our system.
- Assist and inform the Operations Manager on parts required for cable build orders and minimum stocking levels.
Shipping and Receiving
- Receive goods into the building.
- Package items in our prescribed manner for shipping.
All other duties as required.
- Any other items that come in accordance with your day-day.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training offered.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft AX preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to solder.
- Ability to read equipment manuals.
- Experience in production.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to use handheld tools and power drills.
- Ability to measure and strip wire lengths based on specs provided.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs/22.68kg safely.

- Author, review, revise, or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Participate in site improvement initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical, beverage, and food industries, with prior process engineering experience .
- Bachelors Degree in a related engineering field required
- Prior experience in a cGMP-regulated industry , including knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with environmental regulations and OSHA compliance required

- Control CAD storage and manage the importing/exporting of CAD data.
- Create and review GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications for parts and assemblies

+ Estimate manufacturing cost, time standards, and provide recommendations for methods and tooling for new or existing product lines.
+ Closely Interact in a collaborative manner with Supervisors, Machinists, Design Engineers, Program Managers during the full product life-cycle events.
+ Feedback for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) changes into the product design effort.
+ Resolve Design, Manufacturing, Quality issues and disposition non-conformances to ensure an efficient process flow.
+ Development of procedures for Machine Operation and Maintenance.
+ Generates NC programs for multi-axis CNC machinery, including Milling and Turning operations with live tooling, using CAM software such as HyperMill, MasterCam, Creo.
+ Management of NC programs for revision control, create and maintain tooling libraries.
+ Interaction and support during acquisition of new equipment, fixtures and tooling.
+ Support with quotations and cost estimate, support business case analysis for new processes and equipment.
**What You Bring:**
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in a custom, make to order, highly engineered product manufacturing environment.
+ Experience using CAD/CAM tools such as AutoCad, MasterCam, HyperMill, Creo, SolidWorks, Vericut. Experience with Machine Simulation Software
+ Blueprint reading, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
+ Thorough knowledge of a broad range of manufacturing disciplines including welding, fabrication, mechanical and electrical assembly, hydraulics, machining, painting, and sand blasting.
+ Experience translating engineering requirements, test plans and procedures, into bills of materials, work order instructions, processes and tooling design.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Excellent leadership abilities to oversee all phases of project implementation. Ability to manage projects from initiation to completion in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
+ Effectively collaborate, employ conflict resolution skills, cooperate with various stakeholders to effect change and ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
+ Skilled with machine selection, specification, procurement, and installation.
+ Experience with CAPEX business case development and support.
+ Thorough understanding of Quality Control Assurance concepts and principles in a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience with advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, SAP, Oracle, or other. Oracle EBS R12 experience preferred.
+ Experience with Repair and Overhaul (R&O) processes for customer returned product.
+ Strong computer skills (MS Office) with expert knowledge of Excel preferred.
+ Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, CAD experiences especially 3D solid modelling.
+ Experience in VBA or similar-to programs.
+ Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
+ Relevant Aerospace, Defense, Nuclear and/or related industry experience is a plus
**Minimum Education Requirements:**
+ B.Sc. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
+ Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities, inclusive of Manufacturing Methods, tool and Fixture Design, budget and Cost analysis
+ CAM/CAD software certification a plus
