**What you'll do:**
Eaton is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler - Day Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, Ontario location.
**Position Overview:**
Eaton's Milton Plant has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembler on our day shift. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position interprets the manufacturing information documents in order to mechanically assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts or modify basic components, sub-assemblies and structures using hand and power tools for the site's product lines.
**In this function you will:**
- Assemble components ensuring proper torque of bus and phase connectors.
- Read and interpret drawings while ensuring assembly bill of material accuracy.
- Check parts picked/delivered to parts required. Resolve discrepancies, if any, with supervisor.
- Escalate drawing concerns via appropriate channel.
- Repair and modify any errors detected by test/inspection.
- Work to CSA and UL code.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process.
- Apply consistency in assembly method for units on the same order.
- Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance and making mechanical adjustments as needed.
- Clean unit and prepare for testing process.
- Check performance of completed components to ensure compliance to quality standards and make necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.
- Perform pack and ship duties.
- Use various fixtures, gauges and assembly tools to assemble, adjust or repair product.
- Perform other duties as required
**Qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or six months of assembly experience.
- Completed High School Diploma or equivalency.
- No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON to be considered.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.
**Skills:**
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience in assembly or repair of products.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools.
**Position Criteria:**

**PRIMARY FUNCTION:**
Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for the assembly, wiring, and installation of electrical and mechanical components, following detailed manufacturing documentation and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
This role is located at one of our Eaton Satellite locations (6 in total), which are located across Canada and comprise of smaller to medium assemble-to-order facilities and complement our large manufacturing facilities within Canada. Local site product lines may include; standard panelboards, switchboard, control and custom control product assemblies as required.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
- Interpret and work from drawings, schematics, shop packs, and process plans
- Wire complex assemblies and install components according to specifications
- Assemble electrical control panels, sub-assemblies, and mechanical structures
- Use fixtures and various tools to assemble, adjust, and repair products
- Perform in-process inspections and make adjustments to meet quality standards
- Ensure compliance with Eaton's High 5 focus areas: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S principles
- Accurately pick materials from inventory and resolve shortages with supervision
- Participate in departmental continuous improvement efforts

Overall Requirements:
Our operations Department is looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembler to perform various repair, rework, and assembly functions. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect PCBs for physical and/or other damage
- Perform low to mid-level rework activities on through hole and surface mount components to IPC610 standards.
- Perform rework activities at class 1, 2 and 3 levels.
- Perform low level bench testing as required.
- Document all work performed using system tools.
- Understand and meet or exceed daily output requirements.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Perform other job-related duties, as required.
Education & Experience:
- Electronic Technician/Technologist Diploma an asset.
- Equivalent years of relevant work experience within electronic assembly
