As an Aircraft Mechanic you will be responsible for operating, testing, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting all aircraft systems. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Perform system and/or function checkouts of components (static checks, hydraulic function checks, flight control rigging, fuel system checks and oxygen, ect.) per appropriate approved maintenance procedures or FAA requirements.
- Remove and replace components on the aircraft per appropriate approved maintenance procedures or FAA requirements.
- Attention to the smallest detail or component and ensure every little part is inspected, installed and function test to approved procedures.
- Complete assigned work, including troubleshooting and repairs of malfunctioning systems in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures within established schedule.
- Accurately log on Labor Data Collection System for work orders and attendance tracking.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate with 2 years of experience or no A&P with 4 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic.
- Proficient with using hand tools and precision equipment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures.
- Able to work on maintenance stands, lifts and ladders, work in confined spaces in unusual positions
- Able to lift minimum 50lbs and able to enter and exit the aircraft using steps and/or stairs.
- Must not be allergic to jet fuel, oils, hydraulic fluids or cleaning solvents.

The Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanical Leader is expected to perform preventative maintenance and repairs as required to surface and underground, mobile and stationary equipment and will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Be a "Leader in Safety" - ensure all work proceeds under safe work conditions, procedures are followed using proper equipment (including personal protective equipment), support is provided to project personnel to "Stop and Correct" unsafe situations and information is passed on, including, near misses so the company can take action to continually improve workplace safety for all.
- Prepare specifications and initiate procurement and properly store adequate inventories of required equipment and parts.
- Consult with Project Superintendent on non-routine repairs, coordinates procedures for scheduled and emergency mechanical maintenance and maintain daily communication of the status of major work being performed.

- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace.
- Utilize all safety systems as specified within the site safety management system.
Pre-Employment Qualifications:
- Pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical testing.
- Criminal Record Check (if applicable).
- Full Basic Underground Common Core.
- CWB Certification considered an asset.
- Possess a valid Heavy Duty Equipment Certification.

- The AME/Technician is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

- Disassemble, inspect, record discrepancies, recommend and record methods of repair
- Install, rig and carry out all other mechanical functions and test in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduated from accredited trade institution with Mechanics background
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanics-related general aircraft assembly, fabrication, installation.
- Proven ability to interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications and or Skills:
- Experience with Twin Otter aircraft and system is considered an asset
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- Flexibility to change shifts is required.

- Skilled in reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals

- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
