Title: Post-Production Technician (Photo Editor) - P2

Location: Remote Canada

Reports To: Supervisor, Post Production

Position Overview:

The post-production technician is responsible for utilizing industry standard software (i.e. photoshop) to enhance raw images provided by JDP's photographer to high standards that are driven by product requirements and client demand (i.e. compare products, configuration products, client custom work).

Key Success Factors/Measures:

  • High degree of "accuracy" in the current dept. processes
  • Complete work on or before required deadlines
  • Be receptive to quality control feedback (accept criticism and advice)
  • Retain feedback and apply to subsequent jobs as applicable
  • Provide insight and suggestions for the development of department processes

Education, Experience and Competencies:

  • Formal or semi/formal training in graphic arts is an asset but not required (a certificate from a recognized institution is an asset)
  • PC skills and hands-on experience with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and raw camera download software (MAC experience is an asset)
  • Up to date Photoshop experience/knowledge
  • Knowledge of common computer and basic Internet technologies is required
  • Good communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
  • Solid understanding of the organization's goals and objectives

What You'll Be Doing in This Role: Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize various graphics software packages and equipment to correct color balance, set shadows, and "clean-up" images at the professional photographic level within the digital/web/print environment for distribution
  • Collaborate with photographers and dept. leads on jobs from beginning to end
  • Maintain department nomenclature, format and file organization per current processes of all images and image sets
  • Assist in archiving and organizing all photography files for all auto manufacturers (year, model, make)
  • Ensure Autodata media image database is always correct and current
  • Maintain our workflow tools (Jira) with accurate and complete comments and work hour logs

Qualifications of this Role: Education, Experience and Competencies

What Youll Do

Digital Media Strategy Support

  • Manage full media planning cycles (Planning and presenting, buying, executing, analysis and reporting)
  • Media Execution: Hands-on media campaign setup across multiple digital paid media channels (including social, programmatic, display, native, video and search) to ensure media is delivered on time with high quality, and campaign performance targets are met or exceeded.
  • Create media point of views (POVs).
  • Execute digital reporting and trafficking.
  • Media Planning/Strategy support.
  • Assist with maintaining of campaign budgets and invoices.
  • Clear media invoices and flag discrepancies.
  • Liaise with external media vendors and agencies.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate daily with internal departments (Creative, Accounts and Project Managers) to ensure client needs are fulfilled.
  • Cultivate an environment of positivity, results-oriented and client-focused by communicating with others in an open and respectful manner.

Operational Excellence

  • Keep abreast of and suggest implementation of industry best practices and trends related to the Agency.
  • Follow all agency policy and procedures.

What Youll Bring

  • Minimum (2) year as a Media Planner/Buyer.
  • Minimum (2) year hands-on experience with paid digital media channel campaign buying and planning, setup, ongoing optimization, measurement & testing.
  • Intermediate knowledge of conventional and unconventional digital media buying and acquisition models (CPA, CPC, CPM, CPE).
  • Strong computer software skills particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.

The Opportunity

12-Month Contract

The Digital Media Specialist plays a key role in developing and executing integrated media plans across all available digital platforms to support growth and achieve marketing objectives for the RCL banners, in close collaboration with both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of media plans and identify placement and media buying opportunities at all levels of the conversion funnel, in collaboration with the digital media team.
  • Develop and manage display, social, SEM, and affiliate campaigns across all digital media buying platforms (Google Ads, FBM, DSPs, Impact, etc.), under the supervision of interactive strategists.
  • Work closely with RCL’s marketing and e-commerce divisions to create and deploy media strategies, including briefs, audience management, creatives, tagging, and tracking.
  • Responsible for ad operations (Ad Ops), including campaign creation and trafficking, budget management, optimization, and reporting.
  • Analyze campaign performance both during and after campaigns to identify optimizations to achieve KPIs and evaluate overall performance in relation to objectives, while providing insights for future improvements.
  • Support the development of internal digital expertise by promoting innovation and ad tech, staying up to date with industry trends and challenges.
  • Contribute to RCL’s omnichannel growth through evolving media practices, including attribution, media personalization, audience management, etc.
Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in digital media buying.
  • Proficient with media buying platforms like Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, and DSPs.

  • Practical experience with Google Analytics (an asset).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a knack for making complex concepts clear.
