Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Leads organizational change management initiatives to support the adoption of new technologies and business solutions.
  2. Oversees the evaluation, selection, and implementation of vendor products and services in alignment with the Corporation’s business needs.
  3. Develops a change management plan that includes stakeholder engagement, communication, and training to ensure that end-users are prepared for the new system's implementation. Manages changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensures that stakeholders are informed of these changes.
  4. Responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive project plan that outlines the scope, schedule, budget, and resources required. Establishes a project team, defines roles and responsibilities, and creates a communication plan that includes regular status updates and stakeholder engagement. Monitors progress, identifies risks, and develops mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
  5. Ensures all work activities associated with identification, cleansing, enrichment, transform, and load of data from legacy systems into the new ERP system solution are accurate and auditable.
  6. Leads and motivates cross-functional project teams, including internal staff, consultants, and vendors.
  7. Ensures adherence to project standards, methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
  8. Acts as the main point of contact for all project-related communications. Provides regular and transparent updates on project status to executive leadership, steering committees, and all relevant stakeholders. Facilitates effective communication and collaboration among project team members, departments, and external partners. Manages stakeholders' expectations and fosters strong relationships.
  9. Develops, tracks, and manages project budgets to ensure financial targets are met. Allocates and optimizes resources effectively to achieve project objectives.
  10. Manages vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring that deliverables are met in accordance with agreements and the agreements provide for adequate support from the implementation phase through continued post go-live support.
  11. Collaborates with organizational change management leads to ensure a smooth user adoption and minimize disruption. Oversees development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for end users. Champions the new ERP system and its benefits throughout the organization.
  12. Oversees support and stabilization efforts following the go-live phase. Identifies opportunities for ongoing improvement and optimization of the ERP system and associated business processes. Conducts reviews after implementation and lessons learned sessions to enhance the delivery of future projects.
  13. Works with subject matter experts and system owners to define legacy data sources, mapping, business rules, and historical data needs, and identify inaccuracies, redundancies and gaps in existing data, ensuring data quality and readiness prior to data migration.
  14. Determines regulatory and non-regulatory archival/historical data requirements.
  15. Works with training specialists to develop training materials and provide guidance to end-users on data-related aspects of the ERP system.
Qualifications: Essential
  • University Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related major.
  • Solid knowledge of data related to ERP domains such as General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, Suppliers, Customers, Employees, and Purchase Orders. Including HR data domains such as personnel files, payroll, time and attendance, performance management, and organizational structures.
  • 5 years’ experience delivering complex enterprise-wide ERP implementations preferably in a Municipal sector.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and consultants.
Preferred
  • Certificate in PMP, PRINCE2, or other recognized Project Management considered an asset.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) considered an asset.

Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified candidates for an Experienced Senior Mining Engineer for a Calgary based position. This position requires an individual with broad mining experience, some combination of operations, engineering, and corporate office experience is a plus, as well as proven technical competencies to support our mining sector clients. Your Key Responsibilities
- Diverse background on mining projects, past career focus in coal, oil sands and metals, mine planning, geotechnical/civil engineering, or mineral economics is a plus.
- Ability to interpret and direct others in the use of planning software programs such as MineSight, Carlson, Minemax, Vulcan, or similar packages (ability to use yourself is a plus)

Your Opportunity
Stantec Consulting's mining team consists of more than 800 engineers and technicians working from offices around the globe. The mining group is composed of Mining, Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Engineers as well as Geologists providing services primarily to the mining industry. Our western Canadian mining team is based in Calgary and Vancouver and works for mining clients across a wide range of commodities, as well as supporting Stantec's North American and international offices. Projects range from scoping level mine planning and design through to feasibility studies, permitting and operational support and into reclamation and closure activities. As part of Stantec's mining team, you will be part of a highly motivated team involved in mine engineering studies, ranging from open pit mine design and scheduling through capital and operating cost estimates. Stantec's mining team pride ourselves on our ability to develop real-world solutions to mining problems and as part of our team you will develop the skills related to a wide variety of areas from feasibility to closure in developing and evaluating mining operations. Your education and work experience will provide you with the ability to work as a productive member of Stantec's integrated mining team.
Applicants must be prepared to travel and to potentially be in the field for assignment intervals of 1 to 2 weeks if projects require on-site support. This role is classified as full-time with benefits. Standard work week is 37.5 but additional time may be required depending upon workload and project requirements (overtime is compensated at straight-time rate for this position).
Your Key Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for an intermediate level mining engineer to be based out of our Vancouver office. Applicants must possess strong computer skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Operational experience, and/or familiarity with the Hexagon mine design and planning software will be considered an asset. The individual should also be willing to travel for project work as required, although work would primarily be carried out of the individual's home office.
Responsibilities and essential job tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
- Data evaluation and interpretation including equipment productivity, costing and resource definition
- Open pit optimization, mine planning, scheduling and pit design
- Haul cycle calculations and cost estimation for mining equipment fleets
- Site operational support for short, mid and long-range planning
- Support for our environmental, geotechnical and tailings planning groups in the development and design of large mining and closure projects.
- Comply with and actively participate in Stantec and client safety programs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and oral communication).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Experience with mine planning and design software is an asset (ex. Hexagon Minesight, Deswik)
- Work experience in mining or resource industries is an asset.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mining engineering.
- Preferred minimum of 5 years' industry or consulting experience.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and satisfactory Driver's Abstract, per Stantec's Safe Driving Policy.
- Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).

**Pay Range:**

Summary of responsibilities

  • Contribute to the drafting of economic studies, including technical reports, preparation of initial studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies.

  • Design drawings based on specific project data.
  • Conduct presentations of reports, publications and lectures.
  • Contribute to the overall planning of mining projects.

  • Ensure completion of tasks within the planned schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of engineers, drafters and support staff to deliver quality work to clients.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to other members of the department and company.


Qualifications

  • University degree in mining engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience including mining.
  • Consulting and/or international experience are important assets.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or eligible to be.

Sous la supervision du Chef ingénieur minier, mine à ciel ouvert, le ou la titulaire du poste participera à toutes les phases d’évaluation et de développement des projets miniers à ciel ouvert locaux et internationaux. Il ou elle sera plus spécifiquement appelé(e) à :

  • Contribuer à la collecte et à la compilation de données en vue d'amener divers projets à la construction et au stade de la production ;
  • Contribuer à la rédaction d’études économiques, à savoir les rapports techniques, la préparation des études initiales, les études de préfaisabilité et de faisabilité ;
  • Participer au processus de sélection de l'équipement pour les divers projets à l'étude ;
  • Aider à l'élaboration des budgets de fonctionnement et d'évaluations économiques ;
  • Concevoir les dessins selon les données spécifiques des divers projets ;
  • Effectuer des présentations de rapports, de publications et d'exposés ;
  • Contribuer à la planification globale de projets miniers ;
  • Apporter votre contribution à diverses séances de résolution de problèmes afin d’assurer le succès des projets ;
  • Veiller à l'exécution des tâches dans le respect de l’échéancier et du budget prévus ;
  • Collaborer avec l’équipe multidisciplinaire d’ingénieurs, de concepteurs et de personnel de soutien pour fournir un travail de qualité aux clients ;
  • Fournir des conseils techniques aux autres membres du département et de l’entreprise.


Qualifications

  • Diplôme universitaire en génie minier ;
  • Minimum 8 ans d’expérience pertinente en ingénierie, y compris dans l’exploitation minière ;
  • Expérience en consultation et/ou à l’international est un atout important ;
  • Membre en règle de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), ou admissible à l’être ;
  • Être en mesure de communiquer en français et/ou en anglais ;
  • Très bonne connaissance des logiciels spécialisés tels que Deswik, Whittle et Minemax est un atout ;

Mining Engineer, Open Pit


Summary of responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chief Mining Engineer, Open Pit Mine, this position will be involved in all phases of assessment and development of local and international open pit mining projects. More specifically, the candidate will be called upon to:

  • Contribute to the collection and compilation of data in order to bring various projects to construction and production.
  • Contribute to the drafting of economic studies, including technical reports, preparation of initial studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies.
  • Participate in the equipment selection process for the various projects under consideration.
  • Assist in the development of operating and economic budgets.
  • Design drawings based on specific project data.
  • Conduct presentations of reports, publications and lectures.
  • Contribute to the overall planning of mining projects.
  • Contribute to various problem-solving sessions to ensure project success.
  • Ensure completion of tasks within the planned schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of engineers, drafters and support staff to deliver quality work to clients.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to other members of the department and company.


Qualifications

  • University degree in mining engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience including mining.
  • Consulting and/or international experience are important assets.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or eligible to be.
  • Ability to communicate in French and/or English.
  • Very good knowledge of specialized software such as Deswik, Whittle and Minemax is an asset.
