About the Role
Eavor Technologies Inc. is looking for a Research Chemical Engineer to join our Technology Research & Development team. This dynamic role combines technical expertise with project management and strategic alignment. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging research, product development, and business objectivesensuring innovation initiatives are effectively managed from concept to execution. Responsibilities will also include oversight of intellectual property activities and the R&D budget.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, and working closely with a multidisciplinary, international team, you will help advance the development of the worlds first closed-loop geothermal system.
This permanent full-time, in-office position is located in Calgary, with limited travel required based on business needs.

- Project Management: Leading product development research; Create and maintain standardized project workflows for other research projects within the team in collaboration with project leads; Collaborate with leaders of each work stream and technical staff to ensure project milestones and deadlines are tracked and delivered
- Intellectual Property Management: Monitor and track patent action items, working closely with legal counsel and the technology team to ensure Intellectual Property (IP) deliverables and deadlines are met ; Manage IP Committee process; Manage internal IP database
- Manage Finance Interface: Build 2025 R&D budget and track, report, and manage spending vs budget; Lead development of external funding applications for R Budget projection and reporting

Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified candidates for an Experienced Senior Mining Engineer for a Calgary based position. This position requires an individual with broad mining experience, some combination of operations, engineering, and corporate office experience is a plus, as well as proven technical competencies to support our mining sector clients. - Diverse background on mining projects, past career focus in coal, oil sands and metals, mine planning, geotechnical/civil engineering, or mineral economics is a plus.

Your Opportunity
Stantec Consulting's mining team consists of more than 800 engineers and technicians working from offices around the globe. The mining group is composed of Mining, Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Engineers as well as Geologists providing services primarily to the mining industry. Our western Canadian mining team is based in Calgary and Vancouver and works for mining clients across a wide range of commodities, as well as supporting Stantec's North American and international offices. Projects range from scoping level mine planning and design through to feasibility studies, permitting and operational support and into reclamation and closure activities. As part of Stantec's mining team, you will be part of a highly motivated team involved in mine engineering studies, ranging from open pit mine design and scheduling through capital and operating cost estimates. Stantec's mining team pride ourselves on our ability to develop real-world solutions to mining problems and as part of our team you will develop the skills related to a wide variety of areas from feasibility to closure in developing and evaluating mining operations. Your education and work experience will provide you with the ability to work as a productive member of Stantec's integrated mining team.
Applicants must be prepared to travel and to potentially be in the field for assignment intervals of 1 to 2 weeks if projects require on-site support. This role is classified as full-time with benefits. Standard work week is 37.5 but additional time may be required depending upon workload and project requirements (overtime is compensated at straight-time rate for this position).
Your Key Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for an intermediate level mining engineer to be based out of our Vancouver office. Applicants must possess strong computer skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Operational experience, and/or familiarity with the Hexagon mine design and planning software will be considered an asset. The individual should also be willing to travel for project work as required, although work would primarily be carried out of the individual's home office.
Responsibilities and essential job tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
- Data evaluation and interpretation including equipment productivity, costing and resource definition
- Open pit optimization, mine planning, scheduling and pit design
- Haul cycle calculations and cost estimation for mining equipment fleets
- Site operational support for short, mid and long-range planning
- Support for our environmental, geotechnical and tailings planning groups in the development and design of large mining and closure projects.
- Comply with and actively participate in Stantec and client safety programs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and oral communication).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Experience with mine planning and design software is an asset (ex. Hexagon Minesight, Deswik)
- Work experience in mining or resource industries is an asset.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mining engineering.
- Preferred minimum of 5 years' industry or consulting experience.

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 76,500.00 - Max Salary $ 110,900.00

Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief Mining Engineer, Open Pit Mine, this position will be involved in all phases of assessment and development of local and international open pit mining projects. More specifically, the candidate will be called upon to:
- Contribute to the collection and compilation of data in order to bring various projects to construction and production.
- Contribute to the drafting of economic studies, including technical reports, preparation of initial studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies.
- Participate in the equipment selection process for the various projects under consideration.
- Assist in the development of operating and economic budgets.
- Design drawings based on specific project data.
- Conduct presentations of reports, publications and lectures.
- Contribute to the overall planning of mining projects.
- Contribute to various problem-solving sessions to ensure project success.
- Ensure completion of tasks within the planned schedule and budget.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of engineers, drafters and support staff to deliver quality work to clients.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to other members of the department and company.
Qualifications
- University degree in mining engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience including mining.
- Consulting and/or international experience are important assets.
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or eligible to be.
- Ability to communicate in French and/or English.
- Very good knowledge of specialized software such as Deswik, Whittle and Minemax is an asset.
