Position Overview
A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Key Job Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
- Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
Customer Service
- Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
- Meets with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met, and the equipment setup is working properly.
- Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
- Understands and fosters the hotel or client relationship.
Technical Ability
- Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.
- Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow all venue safety requirements and supplier protocols.
Systems Knowledge
- Understands company processes, follows procedures and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Uses the equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for set up and for strike. Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.
- Increases revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques.
- Works with clients to finalize invoices.
- Completes order entries in Navigator, as needed.
- Load, unload, or store gear and equipment, as needed.
- Preparing, labeling, and scanning equipment, as needed.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. Associate degree is preferred
- Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days (Technical Skill Set Matrix or @Encore/HR/Global Learning)
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in educational environment is preferred
- A valid driver's license is required for team members that may operate Company vehicles
- Additional DOT requirement may need to be met if applicable
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Hotel
Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components, and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by ENCORE based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.
Warehouse
Work is performed at event venues as well as in a warehouse environment. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in a warehouse environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area. When in the Warehouse, work will be completed in an environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. Qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time student at The University of Winnipeg, preferably an art history, cultural studies or education major or related disciplines, or with an interest in the visual arts.
  • Some knowledge of contemporary art, particularly art addressing social justice issues and/or created by people from underrepresented communities such as people who identify as Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, 2SLGBTQ+ and Persons with Disabilities.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • May require ability to maintain records and handle cash on occasion.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, procedures and regulations.

Position Summary

The Executive Assistant (EA) will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the AMACC by providing high-level executive and project management support to the Managing Director. As a trusted partner, the EA will act with discretion, diplomacy, and excellent judgment in supporting both internal operations and external engagements.

The ideal candidate will bring a proactive and experienced approach to administrative support, meeting preparation, documentation, coordination of external relations, and will serve as a key liaison with the Centres advisory council and sector partners. Key Responsibilities


Executive Administrative Support

  • Manage the calendar, travel arrangements, and scheduling of internal and external meetings for the Managing Director and team members
  • Prepare, edit, and coordinate briefing notes, presentations, reports, and other documentation to support strategic decision-making and program activities
  • Maintain contact databases, tracking engagements, and supporting relationship stewardship activities
  • Track action items and follow-ups to ensure timely execution and alignment with AMACC priorities
  • Direct or handle inbound inquiries from external partners and prospective grantee organizations, triaging requests and working to ensure smooth and timely responses
  • Maintain well-organized electronic and physical filing systems

Project and Operational Support

  • Provide high-functioning project management support for key initiatives and special projects led by the Managing Director
  • Coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and resource tracking to ensure milestones are met on various projects and tasks as directed by the Managing Director
  • Work with the broader AMAAC team and Grants staff of the Foundation to meet AMAAC objectives
  • Collaborate with other Azrieli Foundation departments and administrative staff to ensure seamless internal communications and operational alignment
  • Support thoughtful, effective and timely administration and logistics of the AMACC Advisory Council, including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, minutes, and materials distribution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Advisory Council members regarding all scheduling and information requests regarding AMAAC
  • Support the expense reporting process for the AMAAC team
  • Support the grants payments process for the AMAAC team

Qualifications and Competencies

  • 3-5 years of experience in an executive assistant, senior administrative, or project coordination role; experience in the arts, philanthropy, or non-profit sector is an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) is preferred, but not required
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; highly detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and a mature, diplomatic approach in handling sensitive information and relationships
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and familiarity with project management or CRM platforms

Qualifications Exprience et ducationUn minimum de 5 ans dexprience en octroi de subventions, en philanthropie culturelle, en administration des arts, ou dans un rle connexe au sein du secteur des organisations sans but lucratif, du secteur public ou de fondations.Une exprience avre en gestion de portefeuilles de subventions ou de programmes de financement, du stade de ladmission jusqu celui de lvaluation.Une exprience de travail directe au sein dorganisations des secteurs de la musique, des arts et de la culture au Canada.Un diplme dtudes postsecondaires dans un domaine pertinent (p. ex., administration des arts, tudes culturelles, politiques publiques, gestion dorganisations sans but lucratif) est un atout souhait.
