We are seeking an NDT Technician to join our team! You will be required to perform the function(s) of NDT Technician. As such, some of the duties and responsibilities, but not limited to, are listed below:
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in NDT level II
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities:
- As part of this role, you will be responsible for recording all tasks pertaining to work orders and caring out all procedures to meet quality control requirements.
- NDT Shop – perform NDT inspection for ratings certified by Aeropol Level III (LPI, MPI, ET, etc…).
- Carry out daily, weekly and monthly checks, as required by procedures.
- Maintain up to date qualifications/ exams (eye test, etc…)Help improve and expend NDT shop operations, processes and procedures.
- Generate NDT Work Orders and other necessary documentation (release certificates, reports, etc…).
- Update work order log for NDT work orders.
- Maintain NDT stamps as required by procedures and policies.
- Stamp off and fill out documentation required to complete the necessary tasks on NDT work performed.
- Hold a final release certification authority to stamp off on release certificates as required per procedures.
- Assist Quality in audits and documentation reviews, and physical audits performed on NDT shops.
- Maintain up to date NDT specifications (ASTM standard, etc…) and inform of any updates and changes.
- Help setup and maintain any test stands, equipment etc… in the the NDT shops.
- Additional tasks as follow:
- You will be required to familiarize yourself with Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Service Bulletins (SB) and Airworthiness Directives (AD), procedures, and additional customer requirements, and contracts for all landing gear or other projects, as applicable.
- Disassembly – handle/ organize components as per maintenance manual from small sub assemblies to large components,
- Tooling – shop provides specialty tools, however it is required you bring in your own tools.
- Ensure the application of all environmental and health and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned (assist with assembly and shop maintenance, measuring, paint stripping, cleaning, etc…)
- Consider the shop floor layout to improve the productivity
- Attendance - maintains perfect attendance, following standards, policies and procedures including productivity standards, deadlines and work schedules.
- Stays focused - can continue to be productive regardless of interruptions and distractions.
- Maximizes time - able to use time available to deliver quality work.
- Desire to take responsibility for outcomes.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.
- May be required to work overtime and weekends (when required from time to time)
- Maintain and use measuring equipment
- Maintain proper cleanliness of the assembly/function test area (in shop area and outside) using 5S tools
- Able to use hand and power tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Able to use materials (paint, grease, adhesive, and sealant etc…)
- Works as a team - ensures joint ownership of goal setting and accomplishments. Involves everyone and puts team success first by encouraging unity
- Perform In-Process inspection, if company authorization is granted
- Perform Final Release Inspection and sign Final Release Certificate, if company authorization is granted
- Able to assist in other departments – as required, be able to adapt to working in another department (e.g. Hydraulic shop, Pneumatic shop, Landing Gear shop, NDT etc…)

The Canadian operation of GEI is expanding in the Ontario market and GEI is looking for a Senior Materials Testing & Inspection Technician to join our existing technical team working on projects across Ontario. This position is based in GEI’s office in Barrie, Ontario with some flexibility for remote work, and includes regular full-time work (40 hours per week).
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Compaction testing using a nuclear densometer for engineered fill, bedding, backfill, granular base and sub-base, asphalt, etc.
- Sampling of soil, granulars and asphalt for laboratory testing.
- On-site concrete testing or sampling.
- Subgrade, foundation (shallow and deep), and reinforcing steel inspections.
- Geotechnical laboratory testing (i.e. water contents, hydrometers, etc.).
- Materials laboratory testing (i.e. proctors, granular sieves, concrete, etc.).
- General CAD design.
- Maintain testing equipment in a good condition and maintain calibration.
- Prepare field inspection reports.
- Communicate field results with contractors and supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- College diploma in Civil Engineering required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience preferred.
- Interested in teamwork, autonomous, and organized.
- Good physical condition.
- Valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle which may be used to travel to and from site.
- Ability to work out of town when needed.
- Available to work on different shifts and schedules.
- Available to work on weekends on short notice.
