The AI Center of Excellence is seeking a skilled Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers to develop and implement advanced AI solutions using IBM's Watsonx platform and pretrained models like Granite. You will build scalable and secure applications on IBM Cloud, collaborating with Technical Account Managers, Solution Architects, UX/UI Designers, Developers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful, innovative solutions.
**Your role and responsibilities**
- Develop high performing technical talent with a particular focus on delivering value.
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI solutions, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Design and establish architectural frameworks for AI and cloud-based solutions.
- Review and approve technical designs and implementations, identifying and mitigating risk.
- Ensure high standards of code quality through regular code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to coding standards.
- Identify and implement improvements in development processes, tools, and methodologies to increase team efficiency and product quality.

**Required technical and professional expertise**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of software development, with at least 2 years in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, particularly generative AI models
- 2+ years of leading a team of engineers
- Expertise in languages such as Python and Java or JavaScript relevant to AI development.
- Strong experience with AI/ML frameworks and APIs like PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI API and their use in developing generative AI applications
- Experience in deploying and fine-tuning models like Granite, Mistral, and Llama 3
- Experience with LLM prompt engineering, retrieval augmented generation
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, data encryption, and compliance standards

Purpose of Position
The AI Development Manager is a key member of our RISE Next Generation AI team. The goal of this game changing initiative is to develop and implement our next-generation PEAK platform, which integrates advanced technologiesincluding artificial intelligence and modern information systemsto:

The AI Development Manager provides support in the assessment, design, development, testing implementation and management of newAI-basedtoolsused by our team and thelearners and families we serve.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain our full-stack platform
- Collect and synthesize feedback from staff and stakeholders to guide iterative development
- Build Machine Learning based algorithms and LLM workflows (e.g. data classification, matching algorithms)
- Support structured data imports, database queries, organization, and validation of data
- Perform quality assurance testing on frontend/backend features.
- Draft and refine user-facing documentation and internal processnotes, including schemes, API integrations, and sync logic
- Contribute to research and prototyping of AI/EdTech tools relevant to our roadmap
- Support the team with general eventsandoutreach asrequired.
Competencies
- 2-4 years of proven software development experience
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills
