* Assist in all aspects of subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations for complex projects and design-build projects.
* Support and maintain systems and procedures at project start-up including: job site trailer/office set up and master filing system; assist with the setup of project billings and the cost accounting system; create and maintain the project directory
* Perform recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation; preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines, maintenance of files, logs, drawings and specifications
* Support the subcontract management process throughout the duration of the project
* Coordinate, distribute and maintain request for information (RFI) processes, logs and binders
* Facilitate the tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines; assist with the creation of the project schedule; input and update schedule throughout the project and review with Project Manager/Superintendent
* Follow up with supervision to facilitate the review and distribution of drawings, logs and transmittals
* Prepare purchase requisitions for approval and assist with procurement of materials and equipment
* Organize project close-out including creating turnover documents and assisting in demobilizing the site and archiving documentation
* Perform daily, weekly, and monthly project control and reporting requirements as required

Qualifications:

* Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Engineering
* Open to travel for project work on sites across Western Canada including shift, camp and outdoor work.
* Can build relationships, team orientated, personable, confident, able to influence key stakeholders and proactively participate in discussions
* Up to 2 years related work experience is an asset but not required (co-op/internships and labour positions will be considered)
* Strong written and communication skills
* Able to read and understand construction documents
* Strong technical skills including experience with MS Word, Excel
* Ability to solve problems based on clearly defined procedures

Working Conditions:

* Remote sites throughout Western Canada (typical shift is 14 days on and 7 days off)
* Office based position when not on projects.

**Maple Reinders Constructors** is currently looking for an **Assistant Field Coordinator (Co-op or New Graduate)** to join our Civil Construction team for a project at the **Calgary Composting facility**.

As an Assistant Field Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to support our Project Managers & Superintendents in the delivery of our exciting Civil projects. The focus of your role will be to maintain contract documentation, support estimating and assisting with the preparation of budgets and schedules. We work on a variety of types of contracts such as Design Build, Plan and Spec and Construction Management and you would gain experience on all of these. Please note A vehicle will be required to visit project sites, as the locations are not easily accessible by public transit.

The purpose of the Assistant Field Coordinator in supporting the project team is to ensure that a profit is made on the project, that the work is performed as per the contract documents, that the project is completed with outstanding quality, and that the jobsite is a safe workplace. In doing so, you will be involved in:



- Update and maintain purchase order logs, shop drawing and submittal logs, and plan logs.
- Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations.

- Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy.

To be considered for this role you will have:

- **A full-time student enrolled in a related post-secondary program of study**
