Timber-Tech Building Solutions is a leader in residential and commercial framing solutions across Alberta. We are currently seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to oversee our framing crews during night operations. This role requires a proactive and safety-conscious leader with strong organizational skills and framing experience to ensure productivity, quality, and safety are upheld throughout the night shift.


Wage: $34-$38 per hour depending on experience

Schedule: 3:30PM- 12AM M-F

Location: Balzac, AB


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate nightly framing activities on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
  • Direct and support a crew of framers, labourers, and equipment operators
  • Conduct nightly toolbox talks and enforce health & safety protocols in alignment with company standards
  • Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met without compromising safety or workmanship
  • Conduct quality checks and provide feedback or corrective action as needed
  • Ensure tools and equipment are used properly and maintained in good condition
  • Communicate shift updates and incidents to the day shift supervisor and/or project manager
  • Manage material deliveries and usage during night shift
  • Follow and comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Comply with PPE requirements
  • Complete nightly reports, time tracking, and safety documentation
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in framing or carpentry; supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial framing practices
  • Proven leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations (OHS)
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Physically fit and able to lift/carry materials as required
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Assets (Nice to Have):

  • First Aid, Fall Protection, or CSTS certification
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and layout
  • Experience using framing software or mobile project management tools

Position Summary/Objective:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for protecting our core values and ensuring a safe and productive workplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Manage a production team of hourly employees, on multiple lines, leading by example and ensuring compliance to company's policies across the shift related to Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as Food Safety and Quality,

· Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products including but not limited to developing plans for efficient use of material, machines, and people for their shift.

· Lead by example to train, develop, and inspire production teams to establish a high-performance culture, where we all work coherently to "win" together.

· Responsible for maximizing the efficiency on each line, working collaboratively with other departments (ie. Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, Quality.) to achieve departmental/company goals.

· Lead and drive root cause analysis to identify and eliminate issues that may arise, recommending solutions to avoid reoccurrence.

· Partner with temp agencies as the primary contact to review people requirements, and staff shift appropriately.

· Responsible for reviewing and approving employee hours through the payroll system (ADP), as well as managing vacation requests, upholding the company policy related to time off.

· Work alongside the People & Values team regarding any employee relations that may occur, including assisting with investigations and following the company's progressive coaching initiatives.

· Provide proactive Health & Safety leadership, to ensure that our behaviour-based observations are completed, and accidents/incidents are reported in a timely manner.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, Business Operations, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience)

· 5+ years of experience within a Manufacturing environment preferred, with a good understanding of manufacturing processes, regulations regarding safety, quality and GMPs.

o Experience within the food manufacturing field would be an asset.

· Proficient computer skills, including and not limited to Microsoft Office, and familiarity working with ERP.

• Provides performance measures, which will enable management to identify performance and downtime issues. Relay any significant change or variance to plant management.
• Exchange information with the current lead hands in order to facilitate optimized production performance and to review safety or quality concerns.

• Implements and ensures staff adheres to plant health, safety and environmental procedures at all times to secure a safe and efficient workplace.
• Focused on planning smooth operation of the department by ensuring all molding and fabrication requirements are identified at least three days in advance.
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensures employees are held accountable and support departments are utilized efficiently and harmoniously.
• Responsible for the fabrication, extrusion and molding departments whilst optimizing the usage of labour and ensuring priorities are followed.
• Conduct and maintain systematic surveys in compliance with ISMS Element 23.0 Job Task Analysis. Participate in the creation and implementation of action plans.
• Develops and implements Rules and Work Instructions as identified through JTA’s, Accident Investigations and Risk Assessments in compliance with ISMS Elements 23.0 Job Task Analysis and 31.0 Work Instructions.
• Work in conjunction with Production employees on Machinery/Equipment/Tooling improvements which would enhance Safety and Productivity.
• Conducts, and assists others in accident/incident investigations and quality investigations to determine accident/incident cause and cause of quality defects. (Reference ISMS 11.0 and ISO Quality Management System.)
• Assigns direct reports to meet or better daily planned production schedule. Monitors progress during shift and takes corrective action. Instructs direct reports in most efficient use of machines and tools. Contributes to plant cost reduction effort.
• Ensure that the skill level of all lead hands meets or exceeds the service needs of the company.


Required Skills/Qualifications


• Completion of College or University is preferred
• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in a related industry is required.
• Knowledge of fabrication, extrusion, injection and compression molding -experience in a rubber manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor leads the day-to-day management of all production activities for the night, weekend shift at the Beaverdale, Cambridge location. Role Specific Requirements:

  • Lead and manage production to established specifications within a pharmaceutical work environment, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), safe work practices, and other company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory management of critical supplies to ensure production needs are met.

Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Toronto, ON for an Embroidery Supervisor. Night shift - 4.30 pm to 1am

The Embroidery Supervisor will oversee daily operations of the embroidery department, including managing staff, ensuring quality standards, maintaining equipment, and coordinating production schedules. This individual will supervise and train team members, troubleshoot production issues, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of industrial embroidery machines and software for troubleshooting and guidance. 

  • Extensive experience with Embroidery Digitizing Software (Tajima preferred / Ioline acceptable) for creating and modifying embroidery files (CDR to EXP, adding stops, grouping, DST format).

  • Manage production schedules, prioritize tasks, and proactively ensure deadlines are met. Adapt to a dynamic, high-pressure environment with fluctuating priorities.

  • Coordinate effectively with the embroidery team, production management, and other departments. Ensure timely delivery and resolve production issues.

  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail to identify errors early and uphold high quality standards.

  • Quickly diagnose and resolve issues with machines, files, or materials to minimize downtime. Proactively identify and report potential challenges.

  • Provide effective leadership to the embroidery team, fostering efficient workflows, meeting deadlines, and maintaining quality.

  • Effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently, especially in demanding situations.

  • Cultivate a positive and motivating work environment to enhance employee engagement and productivity in a high-velocity setting.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in embroidery production.

  • Experience in supervising and managing a team

  • Familiarity with embroidery machines, embroidery software, and production techniques

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Quality control and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Technical skills in machine maintenance and troubleshooting

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in textiles or related field is a plus

Responsibilities

TG Minto is looking for leaders who can encourage and inspire their teams. It will be your duty to ensure your team is performing well and take their feedback about areas of improvement. Hands-on leadership is valuable at TG – which is why we will want you to lead your team by example and keep open lines of communication always.

  • Work within a Just-in-Time Environment with a sense of urgency to maintain the plants equipment and continually improve our current processes while preventing downtime enabling production to meet targets
  • Create team schedules and delegate tasks
  • Monitor employee performance and conduct performance reviews
  • Ensure team members meet deadlines for key projects and tasks
  • Provide training and oversee new team members to educate them about policy and procedures
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on all assigned machinery and equipment and check equipment for wear and possible down time to prevent major problems and emergency shutdowns.
  • Troubleshooting equipment, which can include but is not limited to Robotics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and PLC’s
  • Tests, inspects, dismantles, repairs piping, fittings and fixtures as required for maintenance and construction of pipe lines for air, water, steam, acid, caustic, etc.
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts.
  • Run daily Start of Shift and End of Shift meetings for proper handover of shifts.
  • Conduct other duties as business needs require

Requirements

  • Millwrights must hold a 433A License
  • Electricians must hold 442A License
  • Completion of Apprenticeship as a Millwright with 5-10 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated hands on experience troubleshooting, repairing and completing preventative maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Experience with the repair of Gate, Globe, Plug and Check Valves. (Repacking, bushing and bonnet repair, gate, and seat repairs)
  • Proficient use of precision machinist tools and able to operate a forklift, carry deck crane, JLG, or other motorized equipment
  • Experience with precision shaft alignment by reverse dial indication method or laser alignment equipment, installing sole plates, and leveling
  • Demonstrated experience working with robots and highly automated equipment
  • Ability to trouble shoot and use critical thinking along with problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with PLCs and electrical knowledge
  • Experience working with injection mold machines as well as paint is considered an asset
  • Experience working with automation is considered an asset
  • Experience working with Yaskawa is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and instill positivity within a team and keep them motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to openly communicate and delegate
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Must be willing to work Overtime when required
