About The Role.
As the Occupational Health Nurse, you will serve as the plant's medical professional under the general direction of a local Occupational Provider. In this role you will report to the Human Resources Manager, and work closely with plant management to take a proactive approach toward providing a safe work environment.
What You'll Be Doing.
- Administers first aid emergency medical treatment in cases of accidents or illnesses and contacts a physician or hospital for further treatment when needed.
- Administers Workers' Compensation claims and directly manages the Company's return-to-work program.
- Develops, implements and manages Occupational Health Programs such as hearing conservation programs and administers hearing tests as needed.
- Administers wellness programs that are designed to enhance employees' health and welfare.
- Maintains confidential, accurate, up-to-date medical and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) records for the location.
- Conducts and/or coordinates periodic training, such as Drug-Free Workplace training, first aid, CPR, wellness, blood-borne pathogens, medical surveillance (forklift, fit testing, and other exposure monitoring surveillance), ergonomics, respiratory protection, and OSHA reporting.
- Oversees the ongoing process of updating and development of the Functional Job Analysis.
- Facilitates and oversees the ongoing process of the post-work employment screens, eye & hearing exams, etc., which are utilized in the hiring process and with those employed who move into upgraded positions within the plant.
- Supports onsite EAP program as required.
- Collaborates with HR and plant management to develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures, such as protocols for handling hazardous materials or responding to workplace accidents.
- Conducts workplace health and safety audits, assesses environmental and ergonomic hazards, and develops strategies for preventing workplace injuries and illnesses.
What You'll Need To Be Successful.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree (4 years) from a Registered Nursing program.
- Minimum of 4 years as a licensed nurse practitioner or 2 years as a registered nurse with experience as an occupational health nurse in a manufacturing facility.
- Advanced bilingual speaking and writing skills are preferred.
- Experience in the following: industrial safety programs, ergonomic programs, a variety of health & wellness programs, and Disability/Workers' Compensation Laws and policies.
- Must be able to maintain updated certification for First Aid, CPR & AED, and maintain accreditation for managing the plant Hearing Conservation program.
About The Team.
The Occupational Health Nurse works closely with the Site Safety & Security Manager in carrying out the Company's approach toward safety management at the location. The incumbent works closely with the local Human Resource professional on sensitive healthcare issues, job placement, and reasonable medical accommodation on a case-by-case basis.

Compensation Package

Shell is seeking for Occupational Health Nurse -Work Compensation Board (also known internally as Occupational Health Nurse Lead Work Compensation Board) to join their team in Calgary - Shell Bow Building.
The Occupational Health Nurse WCB, Canada, is a dual-function position, equally split between occupational health responsibilities and Worker's Compensation Board coordination for Shell Canada Ltd. This role supports the Occupational Health Lead in Calgary managing the occupational health workload and will also need to provide comprehensive management and oversight of Shell Canada's WCB processes across all provinces and territories where Shell operates.

As OH Lead, WCB, you will be responsible for the following business objectives and the duties:
+ Serve as the operational nurse lead in WCB for the Shell Health Canada team and as an occupational health nurse for the Shell Health Calgary team, supporting both employees and contractors
+ Work closely with the Health Manager for Canada to determine the health needs of employees and the business in the development of the health plan for the defined population and or line(s) of business/function
+ Responsible for leading, delivering and managing the nursing and associated elements of the health plan
+ Ensure that there are the right resources in place to deliver the agreed KPIs and ensure the best clinical standards
+ Strict prioritization of workload and elimination of low value work and delegation of transactional work
**What you bring**
+ Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
+ Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
+ Must hold, or be able to obtain, active licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
+ Must be a Registered Nurse with specialized training in occupational health nursing, holding a certificate from a Canadian-accredited program
+ At least 5 years Occupational Health Nursing experience

Occu-Med Health Services has an immediate opening for a Nurse (RN or RPN) to join our Service Delivery team, to conduct health assessments for employers in the GTA area, and along the Brampton to Huntsville corridor. The position will involve travel, with some overnights. The 'base' office is being established, and will be somewhere in the Brampton to Markham or Brampton to Barrie corridors. The location will be determined after the recruitment for this position. We require a Nurse to: * conduct employee health tests, which will include physical exams, vision screening, hearing tests, PFTs and other tests. We can provide training on any of these as required. * provide occasional support at fixed client sites (typically in northern part of GTA or north of GTA) (this function would require nurse with prior occupational health experience) The position is part-time, and could be 2-4 days/week depending on your availability. Compensation: This position is paid on an hourly basis, ranging from $24/hr to $40/hour depending on experience level and services being provided. We pay for travel, and a shift premium for onsite/mobile work. A bit about us: Occu-Med is a London-based 43 year old provider of occupational health services to employers. We provide medical surveillance and preplacement testing services for many companies you know. We have Nurses and other health professionals who: * travel to client sites to conduct employee health testing onsite, * conduct employee health tests at our London clinic, and/or * are placed at client locations to provide occupational health services on a contract basis. We operate a mobile health testing unit, which we use where required. In other cases, nurses use company vehicles to travel to client sites. What are we looking for? We're looking a Great new team member! Occu-Med Health Services has an immediate opening for a Nurse (RN or RPN) to join our Service Delivery team, to conduct health assessments for employers in Southwestern Ontario. The position will involve travel, with some overnights We require a Nurse to: * conduct employee health tests, which will include physical exams, vision screening, hearing tests, PFTs and other tests. We can provide training on any of these as required. * provide occasional support at fixed client sites (typically in London) (this function would require nurse with prior occupational health experience) This is a permanent, part time or casual position with room for growth. Compensation: This position is paid on an hourly basis, ranging from $24/hr to $40/hour depending on experience level and services being provided. We pay for travel, and a 'shift premium' for onsite/mobile work. A bit about us: Occu-Med is a London-based 42 year old provider of occupational health services to employers. As part of our medical surveillance testing we have Nurses and other health professionals who: * travel to client sites to conduct employee health testing onsite, * conduct employee health tests at our London clinic * are placed at client locations to provide occupational health services on a contract basis. We operate a mobile health testing unit, which we use where required. In other cases, nurses use company vehicles to travel to client sites. What are we looking for? First & foremost - we're looking for someone that fits with our organization and our team. We want people who have a "can do" attitude, and who are able & willing to travel in Southwestern Ontario (and occasionally, a little further). Main responsibilities:
* Participate in committees or projects that link to promotion of employee wellness / safety strategies or benefit to the organization as a whole
* Utilize nursing process to assess and to provide primary health care, education, counselling and facilitating referral to internal / external services as deemed necessary i.e. occupational physician, EFAP etc.
* Assist employees / organization in the comprehensive management of occupational and non-occupational illness (Sick, STIP, LTIP) and injury in keeping with knowledge of nursing standards, best practice principles and legislative requirements:
* Initiate first aid, documentation, reports/forms, follow up, communication and necessary tasks related for effective case management
* Collaborate with internal and external HCP and third party insurer to facilitate appropriate assessments and interventions that promote employee health and timely RTW
* Identify appropriate accommodation and facilitate early and safe return to work plans
* Monitor and co-ordinate RTW and evaluate outcome/ effectiveness
* Communicate recommendations to key stakeholders for continuous improvement of RTW plans and process
* Perform employee health screening and periodical medical examinations / surveillance based on the identification of hazard / risks as determined by the EH&S / Trainer
* Interpret and communicate results and co-ordinate / support appropriate follow up and collaborate with occupational physician & hygienist as deemed necessary
* Provide guidance to employee regarding safe work practices to reduce exposure and promote health & wellbeing
* Assist with the daily running to the H&WS department
Qualifications:
* Registered with the College of Nurses in Ontario - active and in good standing
* Current First aid / CPR / AED certificate for HCP
* Diploma / certificate in Occupational Health (or work towards completion)
* 5 Years of experience in an occupational health setting
* Rehabilitation management experience and knowledge of OSHA legislation

Job Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS :
Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Occupational Health Nursing certification (COHN(C)) is an asset.
Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational health, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of WSIB processes, OHSA, and medical accommodation practices.
