Your primary focus will be on facilitating recovery, improving function, and promoting overall well-being for individuals with occupational injuries and activity-related soft tissue disorders.
Clinical duties include evidence-based assessment and rehabilitation services for clients who have sustained a variety of work-related injuries and conditions. The goal of rehabilitation is to support clients return to work through in clinic and workplace interventions. The position involves functional assessment; graded work simulation programs; group and individualized education; goal setting; liaison with employers , clients, and referral sources; return to work planning and monitoring; and job site visits/job coaching. The Occupational Therapist will work on a team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Counselors, Physicians, Kinesiologists, and Case Managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Related experience in areas of vocational rehabilitation, musculo-skeletal, Active Rehab/Exercise Therapy
- Registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of of British Columbia and ideally 2 years of experience.
- Less than 2 years of experience will be considered for the right candidate
- In clinic training and mentorship is provided

ONE KIDS PLACE Childrens Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.

Effective September 2024, OKP has begun to roll out an Alternate Hours program at our North Bay site to provide services to our communities outside of standard business working hours (after 4:30 PM). Staff will be expected to participate, which may result in working alternate hours once per month to support this program. Please note that this program may be implemented at our other locations in the future.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, consultation, clinical analysis and treatment planning to assist children and youth to achieve their optimum rehabilitation potential in all areas of activities of daily living, fine motor abilities, perception and sensory integration. Note that clinical supervision of therapy assistants and family and community partner education will be important components of all positions.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provides quality family-centered care through assessment, establishing a clinical diagnosis and treatment programs to assist children/youth in achieving their maximal functional ability in the areas of activities of daily living, fine motor abilities, perception and cognition.
- Utilizes therapeutic techniques / modalities as necessary in the provision of therapy.
- Documents client-related activities and workload practices according to Childrens Treatment Centre and College standards and maintains client confidentiality and privacy.
- Communicates effectively and ensures continuity of care by making treatment decisions in close collaboration with the child/youth/family, other rehabilitation staff and other community service providers as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Educates the child/youth, family and other caregivers in the condition/disease process and specific treatment/intervention suggestions to ensure appropriate follow-through of daily activities and programs. The focus may be prevention, maintenance and/or treatment for the child/youth and family.
- Provides clinical supervision within the disciplines scope of practice to designated support personnel and/or placement students.
- Provides equipment recommendations / prescriptions and/or refers children/youth to appropriate services.
- Acts as a resource/educator for the children/youth, families, staff, students, professionals and communities through the facilitation, development and implementation of education programs.
- Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members, placement students and/or volunteers.
- Pursues on-going professional development and growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- 2 years related work experience within a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills

SummaryWe require a skilled Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to provide rehabilitation services to Residents in select Long-Term Care Homes in Goderich, Ontario.
You will be responsible for providing assessments, recommendations, and equipment prescription for Residents who have been referred for an ADP Assessment. You will also serve as a resource and educator to the Home’s staff and Residents/Families regarding equipment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessments and access funding under the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) to meet equipment needs, in compliance with all ADP required activities and documentation, as well as funding guidelines

The Down Syndrome Resource Foundation has an opportunity for a talented Occupational Therapist with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities and their families. The location is at our center in north Burnaby, BC. The start date for the position is September/October 2025 (flexible).
The Down Syndrome Resource Foundation was formed in 1995 and has an established history with a strong reputation for excellence. The outcomes for individuals with Down syndrome can be maximized by providing opportunities for rich social connections with family and friends, participation in the community, optimal health care, as well as the opportunity to learn through instruction that is tailored to the profile of the learner. Our aim is to assist in the development of children into adults who are confident, self-reliant, resourceful, socially connected, and able to make positive contributions to their community.

Qualifications:
- Masters degree in occupational therapy (or equivalent degree prior to 2008)
- Certification by CHCPBC (College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia)
- Experience in occupational therapy within a pediatric setting (clinic, hospital, school)
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is recommended
Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly individual therapy to individuals with Down syndrome
- Assist in the transfer of skills into the classroom, community, and home environments via mentoring parents and other team members
- Collaborate with Director of Therapy, Behaviour and Family Support and Senior OT to ensure quality and effective programming
- Presentations to parents and professionals in the community on various occupational therapy topics

Compensation:
