About the Role
Paladin Security is hiring a dedicated Healthcare Security Officer to join our team at Digby General Hospital. You’ll play a vital role in protecting patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring a safe and secure healthcare environment for the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- Access Control : Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
- Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
- Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications- Must reside near Digby, Nova Scotia
- Eligible to obtain a Nova Scotia Security License
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C (CSA-approved)
- Covid-19 vaccination (two doses)
- Immunization records : Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
- Physical ability to perform patrols and emergency response

Key Responsibilities:
As an Access Control Officer, you will be working as the main Security detail for Halifax Stanfield International Airport. You will ensure the safety & security of all passengers, workers and flight personnel by monitoring the Primary Security Line or PSL at various gates and access points. You will ensure that only authorized individuals have access to the restricted areas beyond the PSL.
Other duties include:
