Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Sr. Underwriting Services & Operations Manager - Energy, Marine & Construction to lead and develop our Underwriting Account Servicing team, delivering customer-specific, value-added services for large and mid-size accounts.
Reporting to the VP, Head of Multinational & National Account Underwriting Operations, you will be responsible for motivating and guiding your team to achieve operational excellence, ensuring our clients receive outstanding service, and driving continuous improvement across the Strategic Business Unit. You will also ensure that your team supports the underwriters in the end to end life cycle of accounts. Your leadership will directly influence our customer, broker, and distributor experience, and your insights will help shape our business for future growth.

**What you will do**
+ Lead, motivate, and develop the Underwriting Account Servicing team to deliver customer-focused, value-added service for existing and new large to mid-size accounts.
+ Ensure the team meets key operational performance metrics and delivers an optimal broker, agent, distributor, and customer experience.
+ Ensure the team is supporting underwriters throughout the account life cycle to meet key deliverables and deadlines.
+ Prepare and manage staffing budgets and propose/implement cost-effective operational solutions.
+ Make staffing decisions related to hiring, training, development, and performance management, aligned with business goals.
+ Conduct regular performance and career development conversations, creating robust development plans for direct reports.
+ Guide staff development by identifying skills and needs, delegating tasks, and motivating the team to provide outstanding client service.
+ Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that values accountability, diversity, flexibility, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
+ Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.
+ Deliver change management planning and execution (including training and communications) to support implementation of solutions and initiatives.

+ Build strong relationships across the business and lead team meetings and huddles.
**Job Qualifications - What you will do**
Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree, and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing area
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing area
AND
Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
Experience researching, compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing data and metrics
Experience working in a production and metrics-driven performance environment
Experience preparing and managing operational budgets
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
People management experience
Preferred:
Insurance certifications
Knowledge of international insurance programs

Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations: Monitor and operate oil field equipment, including wells, separators, tanks, and pumps, to ensure consistent production and safe operation.

+ Accept dispatches from the Service Desk and perform troubleshooting and resolution activities at the Authorized User's location.
+ Monitor the ServiceNow Ticket queue, acknowledge receipt of tickets, and review troubleshooting information.
+ Coordinate with end users to schedule convenient times for on-site support.
+ Perform preventive maintenance activities for end-user devices, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements and avoiding warranty voidance.
+ **Incident Troubleshooting and Resolution:**
+ Provide incident troubleshooting and resolution for devices, including peripherals and OEM warranty fulfillment.
+ Support IMACs (Install, Move, Add, Change, Deinstall) and remediation of security vulnerability incidents.
+ Execute checklists and scripts as directed.
+ **Device Support:**
+ Support both Windows and Non-Windows devices, including those connected to manufacturing devices.
+ Provide support for desktop model PCs, shop floor sites, and other restricted environments.
+ Issue and support clean loaner laptops for domestic and international use cases.
+ Support specialty printers, security badge printers, RF scanners, timeclocks, and other manufacturing environment devices.
+ **IMACD Services:**
+ Unpack, inspect, and install new devices, ensuring proper operation and configuration.
+ Perform device moves, including disconnecting, packing, and reinstalling devices at new locations.
+ Add or change devices, ensuring proper boot-up, operation, and user orientation.
+ Deinstall devices, erasing data, packing, and shipping to designated locations for retirement.
**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ We are looking for candidates with good standing security clearance (L1/L2/L3) or with previous CGP clearance.
+ 2+ years of experience in deskside support and device maintenance.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
+ Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
+ Ability to work independently and coordinate with end users.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
**Additional Information:**
+ This role may require travel to various client locations and full-time on-site work.
+ Security clearance is required for this role, and the candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
+ The candidate must be able to perform tasks during business hours and fulfill up to 50 move requests each month.
**Location Requirement:**
This role requires on-site presence at **Enfield, Nova Scotia** location in Canada.

Summary: The Tier 1 Field Services Specialist is responsible for providing first-level support to all company IT hardware, software, and end-user-related issues in the field. This role serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting and repair in various locations and environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Support: Respond to and diagnose hardware and software issues in the field, offering solutions in a timely manner.
- Incident Management: Log all support interactions, track and escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support, and ensure timely resolution.
- Installation & Configuration: Set up and configure new hardware and software for users and ensure that all components integrate well with existing infrastructure.
- Preventive Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, and update systems and peripherals to ensure optimal performance and lifespan.

Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Bachelors degree preferred.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Fibre, Ethernet, and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) networks
- Install, splice, terminate (crimp), test and troubleshoot fiber optic, copper twisted pair and Ethernet
- Deploy optical line termination (OLT) devices, IPTV set-top boxes, routers, access points, network switches and powerline adapters
- Maintain and update site documentation, work orders and site inventory. Create incident and fault reports as required
- Deploy, configure, and provision firmware updates on network infrastructure such as routers, access points (APs), network switches, IPTV set-top boxes and optical line termination (OLT) devices
- Interface with external stakeholders (clients) and internal stakeholders (operations & network teams)
- Identify issues, respond to queries, and provide explanation/assistance relating to network project activity in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- Experience crimping RJ45 and RJ11 Ethernet cables (STP, SSTP, UTP)
- Experience testing various types of Telecom cables (Ethernet, Coax, Fibre)
- Experience with terminating/splicing different types of fibre optic cables (single-mode fibres, multimode fibre, and plastic optical fibres.)
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi standards
- Strong manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Ability to work in collaboration with others
- Valid Drivers License G and clean abstract
- Completion of High School/Secondary School or equivalent
- Previous experience as a telecommunications' technician or equivalent an asset
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written
- Abilitytoworkina fast paced, changing environment with minimal direction
- Flexibility to do shift work including occasionally weekends and holidays
