The Haebler Group, a well-established, mid-size, award-winning construction company located in Vancouver, has an opportunity for Construction Site Superintendent. Ideal candidate has over 10 years of work experience in commercial construction and would have wood frame and concrete experience.
Skills and Requirements:
- 10 years of site superintendent experience, overseeing jobs at 3 20 million range
- Wood frame and concrete experience
- Trade or Technical Certificate is a plus
- Passive Housing Certification and/or experience is a plus
- Mass Timber experience is an asset
- Knowledge of Building Code and High Quality Building Standards
- Knowledge of WorksafeBC requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Proactive and positive attitude
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintain the construction schedule
- Create and maintain look ahead schedules
- Co-ordinate the sub-trades for maximum efficiency and in accordance with the schedule
- Timesheets and daily dairies
- Manage manpower
- Order supplies and materials
- Obtain the necessary inspections and approvals during the progress of work
- Maintain safe working practices and conditions at all times

**SUMMARY**
**Construction Site Superintendent- Transportation Infrastructure / LRT** is responsible for actively managing construction projects at the site, responsible for Site EHS safety and supervision, directing construction trades and resolving site conflicts with schedule, coordination and design, and ensuring project quality and construction industry standards are met.
**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Construction Site Management and Supervision**
+ Daily supervision and coordination of the sub-trades/subcontractors and workers
+ Ensure construction industry standards are met and ensure high quality control in the effort to minimize deficiencies.
+ Ensure project materials and workmanship meet project design specifications and high-quality standards.
+ Ensure smooth coordination of all construction related activities.
+ Adhere to project schedule deliverables and critical path.
+ Assist Project Mangers in the creation of site plans and procedures (i.e., scheduling and forecasting resources).
+ Provide resolution to project issues as they arise and communicate project issues in a timely manner to Project Manager (i.e., work scheduling conflicts, work interference, errors / discrepancies / omissions in Consultant's design drawings, project deficiencies list, poor workmanship quality, etc.).
+ Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required.
+ Document daily job report and keep Construction Manager informed of project status.
+ Other responsibilities as assigned (i.e., housekeeping, basic handyman / carpentry, etc.).
**Safety**
+ Provide leadership and direction to safety professionals, and all other site personnel.
+ Ensure trades/subcontractors / workers adhere to health and safety policies, procedures and best practices. Promote a safe work environment (i.e., site inspection, hazard assessment, toolbox safety talk, etc.).
+ In the event of accident informs immediately according to Company procedure.
+ Follows Company procedures to ensure safe environment, personal safety and safety of others.
**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**
+ Diploma or bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Business or related field. Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.
+ Health & Safety related training applicable to construction sites including Competent Supervisor.
+ Minimum 5+ years of progressive construction project management experience (i.e., urban transportation, commercial, industrial, new construction projects). Canadian / Alberta experience preferred.
+ Must be available for evening/night and week-end work
+ Understanding of construction industry standards and operations (i.e., construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures).
+ Construction project management experience in high security environment is an asset.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Knowledge and experience working with various tools and equipment.
+ Must have experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, AutoCAD Viewer and Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Project, Outlook).
+ Intermediate mathematical skills.
+ Team management, including assessing and providing feedback on job performance to sub-trades.
+ Problem solving / conflict resolution and sound decision-making skills.
+ Ability to visualize the entire project, anticipate issues and implement solutions in collaboration with Project Managers.
+ Attention to detail, specifically quality control to minimize deficiencies in real-time.
+ Time management and organizational skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, including active listening and interpersonal skills.
+ Going above and beyond attitude (strong work ethics).

Someone with a learner's mindset, who can coordinate site activities, resources, equipment and information and can keep the trades people on task, the project's construction on time and all related processes running smoothly.
As the Site Supervisor you take direction from the Commercial team's Operations Manager and works toward optimizing efficiency and completing projects within First Onsite acceptable service levels. Ideally you come from being a lead water technician (IIRCRC certified WRT), or from a supervisor role in a construction or restoration company.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SITE SUPERVISOR
- Reviews, schedules and oversees all In house Work from Project Managers.
- Maintains a high level of Quality and Efficiency throughout the project i.e.
- Ensures Demo Meets First Onsite Quality Standards
- Produces Comprehensive Materials List for Repairs
- Reviews and provides Revisions to Scope before work commences if required
- Provides immediate direction and assistance to onsite crews
- Meets scheduled completion timetables
- Updates all parties involved on work progress and/or informing same of changes/additions to original work order or repair specifications.
- Builds, leads and deploys the best quality team to achieving the objectives of our corporate strategic plan.
- Ensures that the company health and safety policies and procedures are followed for all First Onsite personnel and sub-contractors, including all branch personnel are up to date with all health and safety procedures and training and participates/conducts tail gate meetings relating to health and safety and work procedures when on site.
- Maintains detailed project schedules which include administrative tasks for multiple sites.
- Monitors staff efficiency and effectiveness daily, review and authorizes time sheets
- Inspects progress and work quality during and post repairs assuring all scope requirements are met; and reports outcomes to the OM
Qualifications & Experience:
- High level of Construction process knowledge and a Minimum 2 years experience with a proven track record in a construction supervisor / foreman position with up to 25 reports, within the restoration/emergency (or a related) industry
- Detailed understanding of reconstruction practices for property that has suffered water, wind, mould, fire and vandalism damages
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes and electrical, or plumbing, or mechanical and related codes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Computer skills required effectively use Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Accounting skills i.e. basic understanding of invoicing, billing and general math skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence
- Work activities may include physical labour, material handling and lifting, climbing ladders, wearing a respirator, and working in tight spaces (attics, basements, and crawlspaces)
- Be able to pass a background check
- Availability for ON CALL work (24 hour industry related role)
- FULL G Driver's license

Location: Thunder Bay, ON
Salary: $80k-$120k
Our client is a reputable and leading General Contractor specializing in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) construction projects across Northwestern Ontario. Their projects range from new builds and major renovations for commercial, healthcare, and institutional clients.
They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Supervisor to join their team and lead the successful delivery of upcoming ICI projects in the region.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
• Ensure construction is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
• Supervise site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring work is performed in compliance with project specifications and drawings.
• Maintain daily site logs, track progress, and report to the Project Manager.
• Enforce site safety policies and participate in regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manage the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and inspectors as needed.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with local codes, permits, and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Supervisor in ICI construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors on active job sites.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools and basic computer skills.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• First Aid, Working at Heights, and other health and safety certifications are considered assets.
Compensation:
Competitive salary, dependent on experience and knowledge. Candidates must be willing to travel as required, throughout the Northwestern region of Ontario
