About the Job
We are hiring a Site Engineer to join our Construction Team (Cosburn Station) on the Pape North Connect project. This position reports to the Construction Manager.
What You Will Be Doing?
- Manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate site activities effectively.
- Liaise professionally with subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Address on-site challenges promptly using strong problem-solving skills.
- Work in outdoor and construction site environments under varying conditions.
- Ensure compliance with construction safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain project documentation and reporting, including:
-Daily site reports
-Quality control records
-Inspection logs
-Progress updates
- Implement and oversee quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures, including material inspections and compliance with design specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and survey data accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams including design professionals, consultants, and client representatives.
What We Are Looking For?
- -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- -Proven experience in a range of Support of Excavation (SOE) activities, such as:
- Diaphragm wall construction
- Various piling techniques
- Earthworks
- Steel reinforcement
- Formwork
- Concrete and steel structural works
- Underground construction methods
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD; additional engineering software is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment.
- Knowledge of OHS practices; safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, OSHA) are an advantage.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical documentation.
- Team-oriented mindset.

The Opportunity
General Bank of Canada is looking for a permanent, fulltime Site Reliability Engineer to join the Banks Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) team. Consistent with the growth trajectory of the Bank, this is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to contribute to building the Bank of the future with considerable potential for learning, growth, and advancement.
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Computing Services, the Site Reliability Engineer will be a critical contributor to the companys evolution to a cloud first strategy and the departments shift to DevSecOps practices. This change will be supported by agile information technology (IT) and business practices, and the role will be responsible for managing the supporting technology that supports the Banks operations.
The Site Reliability Engineer will evaluate existing systems and their configurations, then implement changes in configuration, tools, and processes to increase reliability and efficiency. This role will perform both more traditional SysOps and DevSecOps related functions.
Position Responsibilities
- Automate Operations: Develop and implement automation tools to improve efficiency of supporting in-house systems, including servers, SANs, networks, firewalls, databases, and other related technologies.
- Change Management: Throughout day-to-day operations and management, structure and automate the implementation of system changes and backout processes.
- Incident Management: Lead incident response including conducting retrospectives with support teams and writing Incident Reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other DTI teams, including Software Development and Support, Helpdesk, Data Engineering and Analytics to ensure seamless integration and operations of systems and applications. Ensure a focus on reliability and deployment efficiency is maintained.
- Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve system issues including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT infrastructure, including system configurations, topologies, infrastructure as code and pipelines.
- Technology Trends: Stay current with the latest technologies and industry trends to ensure the companys technology remains competitive.
What You Bring to the Table
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in IT systems administrations and infrastructure support, including 2 years of experience working with an automation and integration focus.
- Proven experience building and maintaining Continuous Integration and/or Continuous Deployment pipelines.
- Proven experience managing workloads in Azure, including Azure App Services.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (LINUX, Windows), networking configuration.
- Experience using configuration management tools with virtual servers, high availability clusters and network appliances.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform) and proven strength automating provisioning deployment and scaling of systems.
- Strong IT Security knowledge.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to develop others and learn from them.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineering Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Docker Certified Associate.
- Experience supporting technology in the Financial sector.
- Experience with GCP and AWS platforms.

We’re hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to help ensure the stability, scalability, and security of our platform. You’ll be part of the product team, owning the systems that keep our services resilient and performant under real-world loads.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on infrastructure reliability and operational excellence. You’ll architect and maintain the cloud systems (e.g. AWS) that power Botpress, with a strong focus on observability, uptime, and automation.

Responsibilities- Architect and maintain scalable infrastructure

- Own incident response and support the engineering team in diagnosing and resolving issues
- Build systems that increase platform reliability, resiliency, and uptime

Requirements
- 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles

- Comfortable with Linux systems, containerization, and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficient in CI/CD tools, infrastructure-as-code, and automation scripting
