ABOUT PARITY:

Buildings in our beautiful cities, where we live and work, are producing 40% of the CO2 going into our atmosphere and contributing to climate change. We need to HEAT, VENTILATE, and AIR CONDITION our buildings 24/7. Most of the energy consumed in a building is for our comfort, but 50% of it is wasted! This is because buildings have little to no technology to control this.

Parity is a Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Using advanced algorithms, Parity can predict the amount of energy needed ahead of time to operate a building to meet its residents' demands and adapt the building's systems and machinery in real time. We save our customers:

  1. Time - we automate setpoint adjustments and demand response protocols. Our Pi (Parity Insights) dashboard provides early alerting services when things go down.
  2. Money - Parity contractually guarantees the savings that we expect to deliver to our multifamily customers. We also provide quarterly and annual energy savings reports.
  3. CO2 Emissions - we reduce a building’s emissions by optimizing its HVAC systems and reducing energy waste.

THE ROLE:

We're seeking an experienced Operational Technology Specialist to join our team. As a skilled specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex control systems using Tridium Niagara. You will work closely with the Operational Technology Lead and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control infrastructure with other systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex control systems using Tridium Niagara
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot JACE environments
  • Use Niagara Supervisor to monitor and manage control system performance
  • Develop and implement API integrations with Tridium Niagara base API
  • Ensure network security and integrity in control system environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of controls infrastructure with other systems
PREFERRED:
  • LAN and WAN Networking experience
  • Tridium Niagara module development experience
  • BAS controller programming experience
  • Experience with Niagara installations distributed across multiple locations (e.g. campus, regional, etc)
  • Network security experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • N4 Certified
  • 8+ years experience using Tridium Niagara in active sites
  • 5+ years experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting JACE environments
  • 5+ years experience using Niagara Supervisor
  • Extensive knowledge of building automation protocols
  • Extensive knowledge of BAS system control and design
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC Systems

Requirements:

- MicroStation proficiency

+ GE's BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR)
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Demonstrates accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
+ Provide technical guidance and leadership, oversee project scheduling and resource planning, develop talent through mentorship, and act as the point-of-contact between your engineering team and both internal and external customers.
+ Perform lead Instrumentation Application Engineering (IAE) technical work scopes or manage IAE design scopes with architectural engineering firms.
+ Support I&C System design and development from conceptual through preliminary and detailed design, fabrication, assembly, production test, validation test as well as site installation, start-up test, and commissioning.
+ Perform, lead, or manage design and related technical scope from Conceptual, Preliminary, and Detailed Design including successful completion of nuclear regulatory design certification or plant licensing as well as procurement packages and hand-off to suppliers for implementation all applicable system, and component requirements; interfaces, function, performance, design assurance process, qualification, standards, regulatory guidance, certification or licensing commitments, technical contract, human factors, safety hazards, reliability, cyber security, etc.
+ Collaborate with other disciplines to define and achieve functional, performance, reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) targets and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
+ Collaborate with system supplier implementation teams to develop, perform, and review unit, module, system, and integration test plans, procedures, and reports including factory acceptance test, site acceptance test, construction, pre-operational, and start-up tests.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited university or college.
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial Instrumentation and control such as nuclear, power, process, marine, oil & gas, military, aerospace, medical, or pharmaceutical.
+ Minimum 7 years of experience with application, requisition, or field engineering in a combination of mid-tier programmable logic controllers (PLC) or top-tier DCS used in combination, instrumentation, data acquisition, control, monitoring, or automation.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in safety critical applications or regulated industry.
+ Professional Engineer license in Canada
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Experience in nuclear analog and digital instrumentation, control, and monitoring with detailed knowledge in safety-related systems, hardware, software, theory of operation, equipment environmental, seismic qualification (EQ) testing and field services or plant start-ups.
+ Experience using Instrumentation Application Engineering design tools on large plant projects to produce detailed design deliverables (e.g., Hexagon Smart Instrumentation (SPI) or similar tool to produce instrument lists, instrument data sheets, etc.).
+ Experience in DCS, or PLC application, deployment and support engineering of complex, high reliability, signal acquisition, data processing, inter-networking, separation, safety hazards, reliability, simulation, cyber security requirements.
+ Experience using industry standards for plant process instrumentation or controls (e.g. ISA, IEC, RegDocs, Reg Guides).

**Job Description Summary**
This Mid-level role Instrumentation & Control Systems Design Engineer is responsible for design and analysis of process instrumentation and support of control systems interfaces for nuclear power plant applications. This includes plant process instrumentation and digital controls systems requirements and specification development.
**Job Description**
**Responsible for Plant I&C Systems design activities that support:**
+ GE's BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR)
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Demonstrates accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
+ Provide technical guidance and support project scheduling and resource planning, develop talent through mentorship, and act as the point-of-contact between your engineering team and both internal and external customers.
+ Lead and support Instrumentation Application Engineering (IAE) technical work scopes including IAE design scope interfaces with architectural engineering firms.
+ Support I&C System design and development from conceptual through preliminary and detailed design, fabrication, assembly, production test, validation test as well as site installation, start-up test, and commissioning.
+ Perform and support design and related technical scope from Conceptual, Preliminary, and Detailed Design including successful completion of nuclear regulatory design certification or plant licensing as well as procurement packages and hand-off to suppliers for implementation all applicable system, and component requirements; interfaces, function, performance, design assurance process, qualification, standards, regulatory guidance, certification or licensing commitments, technical contract, human factors, safety hazards, reliability, cyber security, etc.
+ Collaborate with other disciplines to define and achieve functional, performance, reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) targets and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
+ Collaborate with system supplier implementation teams to develop, perform, and review unit, module, system, and integration test plans, procedures, and reports including factory acceptance test, site acceptance test, construction, pre-operational, and start-up tests.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited university or college.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial Instrumentation and control such as nuclear, power, process, marine, oil & gas, military, aerospace, medical, or pharmaceutical.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience with application, requisition, or field engineering in a combination of mid-tier programmable logic controllers (PLC) or top-tier DCS used in combination, instrumentation, data acquisition, control, monitoring, or automation.
+ Minimum 1 years of experience in safety critical applications or regulated industry.
+ Professional Engineer licensed in Canada
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Experience in nuclear analog and digital instrumentation, control, and monitoring with detailed knowledge in safety-related systems, hardware, software, theory of operation, equipment environmental, seismic qualification (EQ) testing and field services or plant start-ups.
+ Experience using Instrumentation Application Engineering design tools on large plant projects to produce detailed design deliverables (e.g., Hexagon Smart Instrumentation (SPI) or similar tool to produce instrument lists, instrument data sheets, etc.).
+ Experience in DCS, or PLC application, deployment and support engineering of complex, high reliability, signal acquisition, data processing, inter-networking, separation, safety hazards, reliability, simulation, cyber security requirements.
+ Experience using industry standards for plant process instrumentation or controls (e.g. ISA, IEC, RegDocs, Reg Guides).
+ Clear thinker, detail oriented, insightful, quantitative, results oriented - Able to learn quickly and make reasoned, sound, and timely decisions.
+ Effective communication, cross- discipline and functional facilitation, and influencing skills, both verbal and written with focus on requirements, design basis document and technical presentation preparation and delivery.
+ Inclusive team player able to work successfully in matrix environment - Executing multiple assignments and priorities.
+ Able and willing to take ownership and responsibility for work scoping, deliverables planning, prioritizing, scheduling, budgeting, action tracking, monitoring, corrective actions, reporting, etc.
+ Self-starter with positive energy, bias for action, and proven track record of delivering on commitments and goals in a fast-paced environment.
+ Continuous improvement "mindset" with an ability to identify, influence, and implement better ways to do an activity or process.
