GHGSat offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world. We use our own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data, to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions.
We are seeking an Operations Technician (Mission Planning) to join our Operations team in our Montreal office. Reporting to our Team Lead for Customer Operations & Mission Planning, the Operations Technician will support the tasking our Earth observation instruments' daily operations, process data collected, and facilitate the delivery of products to our customers. Other responsibilities include maintaining detailed GIS projects to assess our constellation's capabilities using a variety of datasets and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Process data of greenhouse gas measurements from our satellites and aircraft on a daily basis. You must be capable of understanding the input variables, converting data files and formats, executing code, and interpreting results
- Perform quality checks on automatically generated data
- Task our satellites using proprietary mission planning software for daily operation
- Communicate and coordinate with internal teams on identifying bugs and feature improvements
- Maintain (QGIS) projects to assess satellite coverage and tasking efficiency
- Prepare, validate, and deliver data products and reports to customers, supporting the Sales team as needed in understanding the data products
- Work with the Operations team to identify inefficiencies in our operational processes and provide and implement recommendations for improvements
Skills:
- Interest in processing remote sensing data and working in an operations environment
- Ability to listen to and have effective discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (customers, engineers, scientists, program managers, etc.)
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within the team, with minimal direction
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills with an eye for detail and a drive for taking ownership of tasks and the resolution of problems
- Ability to work effectively in a time-critical environment with Agile system development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to focus on details in routine day-to-day tasks and identify workflow anomalies
Requirements
- College or university degree in geospatial information system (GIS), remote sensing, physical geography, environmental sciences, or equivalent
- At least 1-5 years of experience working in an operations environment or in data processing
- Must be able to obtain Canadian government security clearance
- Willingness to work in a rotation during off-hours, including weekends
- Must be based in Montreal or willing to relocate to work in a hybrid model from the Montreal office
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS) and data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML)
- Competence with databases (PostgreSQL)
- Systems Tool Kit (STK)
- Knowledge of remote sensing and space
- Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in project management
- Proficiency with programming in Linux, Python, or SQL
- Knowledge of command lines and working in the terminal with Shell scripts
- Interest in atmospheric sciences, satellite operations, and remote sensing systems

**Strategic Planning & Operations Sr Mgr - Large Molecule Discovery**
**What you will do**

In this vital role you will partner directly with the Large Molecule Discovery (LMD) VP and senior leaders to drive strategy, optimize operations, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration. This position blends scientific insight, operational excellence, and cross-functional leadership to accelerate transformative therapies to patients worldwide. This role reports directly to the Strategic Planning and Operations Director, Global Research.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Deliver strategic and operational support to the VP and senior leadership team, ensuring the effective execution of business strategies, initiatives, policies, and procedures that drive departmental success.
+ Actively partner in the planning, development and tracking of goals and initiatives to align with broader organizational objectives.
+ Develop a comprehensive understanding of departmental business needs and challenges, playing an integral role in both long-term strategic planning and change management initiatives to enhance organizational agility and effectiveness.
+ Identify, lead and/or contribute to cross-functional teams in developing and refining innovative strategies and processes that leverage key opportunities. Facilitate the execution of these initiatives across all sites and sub-functions to ensure optimal performance and timely outcomes, including
+ Manage cross-functional initiatives that span LMD&RDS and business partners. Act as a liaison between senior leaders, operational teams and business partner functions, ensuring alignment, progress, and accountability.
+ Draft and manage communications on behalf of the VP and senior leadership team, ensuring clarity and consistency for key initiatives, meetings, and events across the department. Drive internal and external presentation development, including Operating/Business Reviews, All-Staff presentations, & reports on business performance.
+ Help drives a cohesive, inclusive team culture through DE&I activities, staff recognition, and Talent development initiatives.
+ Supervise functional budgets and resource planning processes, working with Finance, HR, and Research Operations.
+ Ensure efficient use of resources across teams and optimize operational workflows.

+ Doctorate degree in Life Sciences, Business or other relevant field and 2 years of project management experience or

+ Associate's degree in Life Sciences, Business or other relevant field and 10 years of project management experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ PhD, Master's degree or MBA
+ 10+ years work experience in life sciences field, including 5 years of strong project management experience.
+ Experience in planning, operations, and budgeting in a Research and Development organization
+ Demonstrated experience supporting research (non-clinical) partnership activities
+ Deep understanding of the drug development process, preferably in large molecule discovery
+ Experience working in a global, matrix organization

The expected annual salary range for this role in Canada is $129,243 CAD - $167,662 CAD. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
