The successful candidate will act as main support for engineering and design teams, supporting them on projects from the design of new products, technical support with Solidworks, Computer-Aided Design, 3D Printing, and R&D.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Designer will include:
- Drafting detailed drawings for fabrication, assembly and erection/installation ;
- Perform all necessary drawing conversions such as pdf files, tiff, jpeg and dwg/dxf files;
- Revise, track and review new and existing drawings and organize technical documents;
- Coordinate and liaised between production, manufacturing and purchasing personnel with all necessary documents and inquiries;
- Check and finalize all drawings for issuance;
- Attend and participate in the inspection of newly purchased items before shipping to customers;
- Prepare plant layout drawings to help sales design systems for bid proposal;
- Work with the R&D team to develop and refine new and existing products;
- Assist in establishing design briefs, including concept, performance and production criteria;
- Interpret technical data and participate in developing qualification test procedures and test methods/plans;
- Create prototype 3D models using Solidworks and 3d printers;
- Understand technical aspects of materials and applies to design appropriately;
- Identify and implement design and manufacturing process improvements;
- Other Solidworks and design duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Must demonstrate advanced knowledge, education, experience and/or training in SolidWorks;
- Design and develop products from concepts through the prototyping and testing phases and into production;
- Mechanical aptitude in common manufacturing techniques including injection and compression molding, forging, die casting, extrusion, finishing, etc.
- A portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity in product design, versatility with rapid prototyping tools and methods, and a strong understanding of design and creative process is required;
- Understanding of general machining, CNC practices, and manufacturing;
- Strong analytical, design and troubleshooting ability, with a focus on proactively and independently solving problems;
- Injection-molding experience would be a strong asset;
- Must work well under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Attention to detail is imperative;
- Ability to work in a team and independently;
- Ability to be creative and innovative and find new ways of applying engineering principles;
- Strong communication and time-management skills;

We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing custom low and medium-voltage power systems. YOUR MISSION
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the primary job duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer will include;
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical design of low and medium-voltage switchgear/automatic transfer switches in the Custom-Engineered products team which includes; reading customer specification and datasheet and post technical questions to sales if any.
- Preparation of preliminary mechanical drawings, preliminary bill of material, technical datasheet etc. for customer design approval.
- Preparation of detailed drawings, final BOM and release to Purchasing.
- Coordinating with sales and production for any technical issues.
- Mechanical Engineering to include design of indoor/outdoor sheet metal enclosures, brackets, breaker mounting, electrical load bus bar systems and bus bracing for use in switchgear using 3D CAD modelling.
- New Product Development design, project management.
- Ensures compliance to existing processes and suggests continuous improvement ideas to existing processes.
- Help formulate standard test plans based on existing protocols for regular products or components.
- Other duties as assigned.
ARE YOU THE ONE?
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Technology Diploma in Electrical/Controls, or demonstrable equivalent expertise.
- Proficiency in using Autodesk Inventor 3D, Solidwork and AutoCAD Classic.
- Previous experience with 3D modeling
- Manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
- Recognized by piers to be ambitious, energetic, organized & highly motivated.
- Stellar communication skills in English, encompassing both written and oral dimensions.

Job Description
Packaging Engineers work closely with our process, controls, and building system engineers to scope, layout, install, and commission packaging equipment lines for our food and beverage industry clients. Dennis Group is a design build engineering firm and general contractor that designs and builds food and beverage processing facilities. As such, our packaging engineers are involved with defining packaging equipment project requirements, estimating packaging equipment costs, creating packaging flow diagrams, providing onsite construction support, and start-up and commissioning the packaging equipment. As a Packaging Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
**Responsibilities**
* Design:
+ Create basis of design and scope of work documents
+ Develop design concepts
+ Develop functional specifications for packaging lines
+ Work with sanitary design concepts
+ Create AutoCAD equipment layouts
+ Interpret mechanical design requirements and customer specifications
+ Review vendor shop drawings and discipline coordination drawings
* Engineering:
+ Create packaging flow diagrams, material balance, packaging matrix, equipment specifications, OEE documents, speed matrix and V- Curve
+ Develop budget estimates
+ Create and follow up with equipment bid packages
+ Develop and maintain delivery and installation schedule
+ Understand size and placement of support equipment
+ Provide expertise in manufacturing and packaging design principles

* Site work:

+ Attend and present at client meetings
+ Lead factory acceptance testing at vendors shop
+ Provide coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group when directed by supervisor.
* Must have been a part of a project team that installed a packaging system with components including conveyance, wrapping, bagging, cartoning, filling, bottling, case packing or palletizing

**Required Education Skills and Experience**
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, packaging, industrial, or manufacturing engineering
* 0-4+ years of work experience in related field
* Must meet Travel Requirement - On-site construction project coordination and management with travel requirements between 30-50% of the year
* Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Intellectual curiosity and a positive, can-do, team-oriented attitude
* Strong problem solving, organizing, and time management skills
* Must have experience in project definition, equipment design/layout, process design, equipment design, machine testing procedures, installation and commissioning of equipment
* Experience working for food and beverage manufacturing, food and beverage design firms, or professional engineering firms is a plus.
**Physical Requirements**
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
**Travel Requirement**
* Up to 50% travel required to visit project site and other offices.
