JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operating a Mobile Patrol motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and regulations;
- Conducting security checks at client sites according to directives, standards and post orders;
- Utilize company cell phones, two-way radios and Tracktik phone app;
- Conducting alarm response to client sites as needed;
- Conducting House Watch patrol if necessary;
- Attending lone worker sites to check on workers when requested;
- Ensuring incident and shift reports are completed including Run Sheets, Vehicle Inspection reports, Key Muster reports, Tracktik reports, Alarm reports and Inventory reports;
- Reporting for shifts on time, and maintaining proper dress and deportment at all times;
- Reporting any unsafe incidents, practices and/or issues;
- Conducting vehicle checks at start of shifts and ensuring any issues are reported accurately;
- Being respectful towards tools/equipment and ensuring proper key control at all times;
- Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and washed as required;
- Maintaining high standard of work ethic and professionalism;
- Promoting a respectful workplace by displaying a courteous, professional attitude;
- Keeping management aware of any unusual incidents;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must possess a valid B.C. security workers licence.

- High-visibility patrol of assigned areas, on foot and in company vehicles

Job Description
The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is a supra-municipal organization with jurisdiction over the Quebec territory located north of the 55th parallel.
The role of the KRG Civil Security Department (CS) is to increase awareness of the importance of emergency preparedness in the communities and support related activities. In particular, the Section works closely with the 14 northern villages to strengthen planning, human and physical resources for fire safety and search and rescue operations. For the purpose of executing this mandate, KRG is currently looking for a person to fill the following position:
Public Safety & Fire Prevention Technician
(Permanent / Rotational)
Under the supervision of the Civil Security Coordinator, the Public Safety & Fire Prevention Technician is responsible for the following duties:
- Develop, promote, and deliver public safety and fire prevention programs to the communities;
- Educate, promote, interpret, and enforce applicable fire safety codes and legislation;
- Verify the inspection and testing of fire protection systems in public buildings and major occupancies;
- Conduct fire investigations and prepare and maintain related reports;
- Elaborate, in collaboration with municipal fire brigades, intervention plans for different buildings as demanded by the Nunavik Fire Safety Cover plan;
- Participate in the development of municipal or regional emergency response plans,
- Provide technical support and training for municipal firefighters;
- Perform any other related duties as required.
- The selected candidate must :
- Possess post-secondary education in Fire Prevention (AEC) or have IFSAC Pro Board Certifications
- Have a minimum of two years of related experience;
- Have the ability to interpret building plans and understand construction details;
- Have an in-depth knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and a good understanding of relevant computer software applications;
- Possess excellent communication and presentation skills and commitment to customer service excellence;
- Membership in the Quebec Association of Fire Prevention Technicians (ATPIQ) will be considered an asset;
- Have the ability to communicate orally and in writing in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French;
- Be willing to travel frequently in Nunavik;
- Work schedule and place of work: 6-3 rotation schedule: 6 weeks working in the Northern Villages (52.5 hours weekly), followed by 3 weeks paid leave (35 hours weekly)
OR
- Work schedule and place of work: 4-2 rotation schedule: 4 weeks working in the Northern Villages, followed by 2 weeks paid leave (35 hours weekly);

Salary: Min. $60, 074 - Max. $102, 839 a year
