Express Scripts Pharmacy Ontario seeks to hire a Staff Pharmacist who will be responsible for dispensing maintenance, acute and specialty medications within corporate and regulatory guidelines, and maintain daily production, quality and service levels.
The candidate will be required to vary work priorities and activities to accommodate business needs, provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians, interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions, verify and confirm validity of controlled substances, verify prescription information entered in the Kroll Pharmacy software system by data entry or order entry, train and mentor other less-experienced or new pharmacists, and provide back up for other pharmacists, as needed.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
+ Verify prescriptions to be dispensed contain the correct medications and are correctly labeled, according to corporate and regulatory guidelines
+ Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians
+ Provide patient counseling on new prescriptions and handle patient clinical queries
+ Train and mentor other less experienced or new pharmacists and/or technicians
+ Additional duties as assigned by leadership
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor of Science-Pharmacy or PharmD
+ Experience in a retail pharmacy/mail order pharmacy setting preferred
+ Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations

We are seeking a Senior Process Chemist to lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of robust and efficient chemical synthesis routes for novel drug candidates. This role is integral to our chemical development and manufacturing sciences team, ensuring seamless transition from laboratory-scale synthesis to commercial production. Based in **Oakville, Ontario, CA**, you will work with state-of-the-art facilities and collaborate with a talented group of chemists, engineers, and analytical scientists. - Develop and optimize synthetic routes for APIs, focusing on scalability, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct process hazard analyses and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Perform route scouting and feasibility studies for new chemical processes.
- Scale up chemical processes from laboratory bench to pilot plant and manufacturing scale.
- Characterize impurities and by-products, and develop strategies for their control.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for in-process controls and API release testing.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues during development and manufacturing.
- Author technical reports, process descriptions, and contribute to regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with analytical development, engineering, quality control, and manufacturing teams.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in process chemistry and organic synthesis.
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Process Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process chemistry within the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry.
- Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and reaction mechanism understanding.
- Proven experience in process development, optimization, and scale-up of multi-step chemical syntheses.
- Familiarity with process safety principles, hazard assessment, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, NMR, and spectroscopy for chemical analysis.
- Knowledge of Quality by Design (QbD) principles and ICH guidelines is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a systematic approach to experimentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
