This role is a critical contributor to the protection of our clients’ facilities and assets. Drawing on your expertise in physical security, you will deliver high-quality, responsive consulting services. You will assess threats and vulnerabilities and recommend, and design tailored security solutions that align with our clients’ unique operational and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a trusted security advisor to our clients:
- Understand their specific needs and operational contexts:
- Review construction project plans with respect to security.
- Recommend and design physical security measures based on Prevention Detection, Response and Recovery.
- Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS).
- Conduct Security Audits.
- Conduct Facility Security Assessments (FSAs).
- Conduct Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs).
- Conduct Security Design Briefs (SDBs).
- Prepare Security Implementation Plans (SIPs).
- Understand their specific needs and operational contexts:
- Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and trends in physical security and integrate relevant advancements into security designs and strategies.
- Current or previous Government of Canada Secret (Level II) Security Clearance or higher.
- Prefer a degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Security Management, Security Systems Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Have one or more professional certifications such as ASIS Board Certification (PSP, CPP) or other recognized credentials (e.g., PMP, CSPM).
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience with elements listed in Key Responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders. Bilingualism is a desirable asset for this role.
- Prefer experience with DND specific security requirements such as NDSODs.
- Prefer experience with RCMP Lead Standards Agency guidelines.

Some of your responsibilities include:
- Performing exterior patrols
- Maintaining official visitor logs, count sheets, sign-in/out sheets
- Writing clear and concise daily logs and reports of all incidents
- Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations
- Provide first aid in a prompt, accessible, and appropriate manner
- Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of site duties and safety standards
Your Must – Haves …
- Valid BC Security Licence
- Lived in Canada for minimum 5 years for clearance purposes and be a Canadian Citizen or have a valid PR
- OFA 1 or willing to obtain
- Class 5 Drivers Licence

Security Officer:
As a Data Center Security Officer, you will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor closed-circuit televisions and alarm systems compose reports, deter criminal activity, and misconduct, and perform other duties as specified in post orders. The Data Center Security Officer is trained to work on all posts at the assigned site location and is available to work all shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol exterior grounds of the facility.
- Observe and report and suspicious activity
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to promote physical security and safety; watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
- Contribute to communication and awareness of security policies and issues as needed; warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits; control/direct traffic; Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
- Investigate and report maintenance and safety conditions, which might endanger client, its associates or public safety
- Ensure that daily administrative documentation is always kept concise and complete; Maintain all daily assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition
- Investigate security related accidents/incidents, interview witnesses, complaints, and victims; responsible for gathering physical evidence and preserving it for future use; complete report and follow up with management as needed
- Investigate and report fires, evacuations, hazardous situations, or other facility related events, provide back up to client personnel
- Responsibilities include crowd control and assisting Fire Department/EMS or other officials during these processes; maintain control at traffic accidents, assist victims, and investigate
- Responsible for ensuring that all employees on company property have proper company issued identification
Required Qualifications:
- MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD SHIFT SUNDAY - SATURDAY
- BSP Guard card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some Security experience (private/public sector).
- Mature, and professional individuals that can give a high level of customer service.
- Must be able to work any shift, and multiple shifts.
- Can handle a high level of competency regarding administrative and data entry tasks.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able and willing to work with minimal supervision.
- Can handle stressful situations and emergencies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
