Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Engineering Lead with a strong background in civil or structural engineering, specifically within the energy sector. The ideal candidate will lead engineering projects, provide expert guidance, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, contributing to our mission of advancing energy partnerships. As the Civil Engineering Lead, the individual will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building rapport with clientsboth new and establishedand promoting revenue growth through trusted partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and teamwork: Demonstrate effective leadership of the Civil Engineering Team, providing leadership, mentorship and collaboration of technical resources and foster a solution driven mindset across the team. Lead and support with growth activities, knowledge transfer mentoring as well as succession planning, performance reviews and personal development plans for Civil Engineering group. Fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the energy engineering team.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary technical resource for civil engineering projects, offering expert guidance on design, analysis, and construction methodologies relevant to the energy sector.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental engineers, project managers, and construction professionals, to develop comprehensive engineering solutions that meet project goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards pertinent to energy projects, including:
- Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
- National Building Code of Canada (NBCC)
- Environmental regulations and safety standards specific to energy facilities.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to civil engineering projects, addressing factors such as site conditions, environmental impacts, and safety considerations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Concentrate on establishing strategic alliances with clients, treating them as key stakeholders in the engineering process. By facilitating ongoing dialogue and incorporating client input into planning and design phases, the Lead will ensure developments not only adhere to technical requirement but also reflect success from a clients perspective as a long-term business partner.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in civil and structural engineering, particularly those related to the energy sector, and implement best practices to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering, with a proven track record in energy-related projects.
- Professional Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SAP2000, or similar), and construction practices relevant to the energy sector.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Position Summary
The Civil Engineering Technologist supports the design and coordination of land and site development projects within our industrial portfolio. Working closely with senior team members, this role assists in preparing designs, conducting site assessments, and helping ensure project approvals and construction progress smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to civil design tasks for land and site development projects
- Coordinate the design and integration of utilities, grading plans, and drainage systems

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Manager of our Municipal Engineering Division, the successful Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in municipal and land development projects and will possess a strong background designing municipal infrastructure through a motivated and dynamic team of professionals located in our Abbotsford Office. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from the proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and commissioning of projects.
