The Plant Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the treating plant's operations. Title: Plant Manager
Location: CAMUS Hydronics (Mississauga, Ontario)
This individual will be responsible for the management and direction of all the company's operations activities, at their location. The Plant Manager is in constant interaction with the operations of the company, and supervises/leads the operations staff.
Through their leadership and vision, the Plant Manager drives the strategy, the business plan and carries out the necessary actions to ensure the Performance of the location. By adopting best management practices and working with its management team, they continually improve the performance of all operations areas of the business. This individual will be responsible for creating a high-performance work environment that promotes collaboration, employee engagement, customer satisfaction and goal attainment at all levels.
Operational Management Responsibilities
- Ensure the alignment of the company's activities and projects with the strategic organizational orientations.
- Put in place an annual action plan aligned with the objectives of the entire company. See the development of action plans specific to each department under their leadership.
- Supervise the action plans of the departments by ensuring that the actions are put in place; assign different budgets
- Ensure effective control of budgets in accordance with accounting policies.
- In collaboration with the different departments, develop, maintain and ensure compliance with business and operational processes.
- Monitor performance for each department.
- Support other team’s functions in operational and strategic management.
- Regular follow-ups on project progress.
- Analyze the measurement parameters (KPI) of all operations sectors of the location. In collaboration with the leaders of the different functions, target solutions adapted to the needs of the company.
- Review and optimize business and management processes, including performance indicators (lead-time, quality, productivity, etc.).
Personnel Management Responsibilities
- Engage staff in the company’s core values, mission, vision and strategies of the company; establish links with strategic directions; communicate expectations and results clearly, and acknowledge the contribution of all.
- Hire, direct and supervise the operations management team. Promote the implementation of collaborative practices.
- Plan and analyze labor requirements to achieve strategic objectives. If necessary, reorganize or modify roles and responsibilities. In collaboration with the Human Resources department, manage situations of lay-offs or termination of employment, if applicable.
- Ensure the flow and transmission of relevant information within the location. Promote the participation of staff.
- See the development and development of the staff under this individual’s responsibility. Ensure the development of skills and expertise for all staff.
- Ensure the completion of overall assessments of operations staff performance.
- Foster and ensure a harmonious relationship and work environment within the location. Anticipate potentially conflictual situations and prevent conflicts.
- Any other duties related to the position
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Administration, Finance, Operations Management or a related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing/operations role.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in managing an operations team.
- Work experience within the capital component manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
Personal Competencies:
- Strong working knowledge of Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office automation tools is required
- ERP systems experience (IFS preferred) required
