**Job Summary**
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Senior PCB Designer is Responsible for the design of complex mixed-signal, multi-layer SMT and thru-hole printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Altium Designer.
**As Senior PCB Designer, your main responsibilites will include (but are not limited to):**
+ Enter schematics into the design software, and create the required part library files when required
+ Layout and optimization of components and circuits to minimize design and production costs while adhering to appropriate design requirements
+ Efficiently layout components and circuits to minimize design and production costs while adhering to appropriate design requirements
+ Optimize layout to maximize performance (including reduced EMI and thermal management)
+ Generate the associated documentation to assist with design configuration management
+ Maintain the component parts library
+ Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
+ Participate in the preparation of engineering and product solution proposals
+ Mentor junior and intermediate PCB designers to achieve program goals and timelines
+ Adopt and support the company's core values and code of ethics
**Qualifications**
+ Engineering graduate of an accredited institution
+ Minimum of 10+ years' experience in the design and development of printed wiring boards (PWBs) using Altium Designer or a comparable design program
+ Analog and Digital Layout experience, especially with respect to high power electronics and modern component technologies is required.
+ Strong analytical and creativity capabilities
+ A record of delivering cost effective and reliable designs within schedule and budget.
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
+ Strong problem solving and decision-making ability
+ Ability to thrive in a product development team environment
+ Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
**Additional Desirable Skills and Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience designing switched-mode power supplies incorporating signal integrity, particularly Electromagnetic Interference mitigation strategies, would be highly desirable
+ Experience with packaging and/or mechanical design would be an asset
+ Past experience in the Defence industry would also be an asset
+ Familiarity with both commercial (IPC) and Military Standards as they apply to power conversion equipment

- Collaborate with other Engineers, Technicians, and Technologists to design, investigate, analyze, and resolve design issues, including circuit layouts considering their physical locations in the amplifier and their mechanical properties
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Test, QC/QA and Customer Support, during development and as part of continuous improvements and cost reduction for our products
- Proven Project Engineering experience to identify and implement new value-added requirements, features and customizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years experience designing Power Electronics circuits of several topologies and power levels to meet good Reliability and EMC requirements.
- General knowledge of dielectric materials and physics of gas/solid high voltage high frequency environments.
- Experience with High Voltage designs and practical EM field limitations and Dielectric applications will be a definite asset
- An enthusiastic team player, detail oriented, task focused
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Experience under ISO9001 Design and Manufacturing environments, as well as DFM, DFT, Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessment
- Practical experience with P-Spice and ANSYS simulation platforms would be an asset

**_This is a full time role expected to begin in January or May 2026._**
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
+ Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under the direction of an experienced electrical engineer
+ Applies industry standard practices and techniques in producing engineered solutions to specific project electrical issues
+ Gathers and correlates basic electrical engineering data associated with assigned projects using established and well-defined procedures
+ Exercises judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Reviews the proposed solutions with the responsible engineer and agrees on a path forward
+ Supervisor will screen assignment for unusual or difficult problems and select techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work
+ Employee will receive supervision on new aspects of assignments
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or another related field
+ Understanding of Electrical power systems
+ Understanding of electrical system load and short circuit analysis
+ Understanding of Lighting and lighting control systems. This includes familiarity with Lighting calculations
+ Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
+ Interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
+ Working knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD
+ Engineering and Design experience thru Summer Internship with an Architectural or Engineering Firm
