The Sr. Power Systems Engineer provides applied electrical engineering and technical expertise for customers in the areas of power system design, power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, startup, maintenance, and repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical power system engineering assessments in the areas of equipment installation, failed equipment analysis, equipment protection schemes, and grounding for Low, Medium and High Voltage installations
- Perform studies including short-circuit calculations, protection and coordination analysis, arc-flash hazard analysis, harmonic system analysis, grounding (step/touch and GPR), and motor starting studies
- Power Quality analysis, including capacitor and harmonic filter selection
- Perform electrical design improvements primarily to support the upgrade of electrical distribution
- Prepare written reports of inspection findings, proposals, and recommended solutions or improvements
- Perform complete engineering documentation packages for new power system projects including: electrical equipment and installation specifications, Single Line Diagrams, Three-line diagrams, DC control schematics, AC control schematics, equipment layout drawings, cable schedules, cable tray drawings, etc.
- Able to mentor Power Systems Engineers as needed
- Provide practical technical expertise to internal/external clients through excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meet customers on-site to review and identify their needs; provide engineering cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Utilize Engineering skills and applicable codes and standards to implement electrical systems that are safe, dependable, and practical
- Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures such as LOTO
- Demonstrate theoretical understanding of electricity and a good aptitude for problem solving through team collaboration

Required Experience and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field such as Power Systems) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Experience in industrial projects is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in power systems engineering studies (short-circuit, coordination, load flow, arc flash, harmonics, etc.)
- Experience with power system analysis software such as ETAP or equivalent
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills are required
- Knowledge of various industry standards including ANSI, IEEE, CEC, NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA.
- Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates
- Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures
- Not required, but considered strong assets: protection relay testing and commissioning, control systems design, PLC/HMI programming, experience with AutoCAD Electrical

Your Role as Intermediate Electrical Engineer
In your role as an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Manager of Power Systems Engineering Services, you are responsible for performing engineering design and studies for various electrical distribution and substation projects (from 600V up to 230kV voltage levels). This includes preparing electrical protection and control design deliverables, and/or physical layouts for medium and high voltage substations. You will also establish project strategy, review drawings, and ensure elements of design and detailing adhere to jurisdictional requirements and will liaise with all key stakeholders.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Technical and Documentation
- Independently prepares and verifies complex technical calculations.
- Designs distribution systems utilizing client standards including bill of materials, yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, ground grid, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC and DC power systems and cable lists.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Power System Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and overhauling electrical systems and equipment including engines, pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lube oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, and other related subsystems.

- Inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical generation systems, subsystems, and equipment to ensure maximum productivity and quality.

- Coordinates with Stores to ensure appropriate electrical inventory and materials are ordered in advance of the annual sealift season.
- Ensures work is conducted in accordance with all corporate policies and procedures; territorial, provincial, and national codes; and in compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations.

Power generation is the largest and most critical component in data center design. With power requirements ranging from 300MW to 2,000MW, we are seeking Electrical Engineers with experience in the design of high-voltage power generation systems utilizing turbine generators in conjunction with grid connections as well as power distribution to support data center loads.
The Senior Power Generation and Distribution Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and procurement of electrical equipment for various projects. Prepare requisite mechanical documentation for construction
Assist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion
Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers and review work progress and results
Provide technical mentoring and/or oversight
Balance multiple engineering tasks concurrently
If hired as a Sr. Engineer, may lead a project(s), manage budget/manhours/forecast/scope and schedule for your project.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**At least 8 years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design performing functions as outlined above is required, preferablly in the power industry, electrical utilities, chemical or gas industrial markets.**
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar degree program) from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program is required.
Has current P.Eng for Alberta or in process of completing licensing process or willing to pursue P.Eng within a year
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative; experience and interest in leading others and projects
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. Experience leading projects, managing scope/schedule/budget necessary for more Senior roles.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds.
- Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%).

**Job Duties:**
- Verify each delivery against the invoice, note any discrepancies or damages to product.
- Follow FIFO rule with new delivery when stocking.
- Some of the work is performed in outdoor weather for 12 months of the year.
# **Job Summary**
**Position Responsibilities:**
- Loads outbound trucks with picked product in an accurate and efficient manner ensuring that the load is stable and secure.
- Shuts delivery vehicles as required to perform loading tasks.
- Performs inventory counts of the warehouse.
- Observes, reports and corrects (when appropriate) all unsafe and unsanitary conditions that could cause employee and/or customer accidents.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Performs all related requests, tasks and processes as required from operations supervisor/manager.
- Complies with Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:**
- Ability to work any shift including weekends.
- Ability to read and perform basic math functions. Knowledge of the English language in both verbal and written
- Considerable knowledge of warehouse location layout.
- Working knowledge of all safety rules and safety procedures.
- Working knowledge of inbound/outbound process.
- Considerable skill in efficiently lifting and stacking pallets.
- Skill in operating warehouse equipment: i.e.; motorized Pallet Jack, Hi-lift, etc.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop and lift up to and including 40-50lbs frequently and 60lbs occasionally.
- Skill in meeting production standards. Extensive training with a passing final exam is required.
- Skill in communicating effectively with supervisors and department managers. Computer skills is asset.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience: 1-3 years warehouse or equivalent preferred.
- Class “G” Driver’s License
