* We are seeking a qualified and experienced Primary Care Physician to deliver high-quality medical care in a correctional facility setting in Edmonton, Alberta.
* This role focuses on providing both routine and emergency care to inmates, supporting facility health protocols, and ensuring continuity of care within a secure environment.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Deliver primary care services including medical assessments, diagnostics, and treatment.
* Provide timely care for both routine and urgent medical issues.
* Be available for on-call and callback coverage during weekday business hours (0800–1600).
* Perform and interpret TB testing for both inmates and staff as required.
* Maintain accurate, confidential, and legally compliant medical records.
* Work collaboratively with correctional staff to support patient care and facility protocols.
* Participate in regular healthcare meetings and contribute to care planning.
* Adhere to institutional security measures and health-related policies.
*Required Qualifications:*
* Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized medical institution.
* Current license to practice medicine in Alberta.
* Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
* Minimum 3 years of medical practice, including at least 1 year in a correctional or high-security environment.
* Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
* Valid Reliability Security Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
* Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
* Knowledge of health issues commonly encountered in correctional settings.
* Experience with secure, compliant medical documentation*.*

This position is community based and supports a client-centered inter-professional team structure to ensure coordinated, wholistic care is provided to a defined population of WNHAC clients. The Physician will practice evidence-based medicine and utilize a holistic approach to client care, including acute curative care, promotion of healthy lifestyles and prevention of illness by involving the client in his/her diagnosis and treatment, and through sensitivity to non-medical problems and appropriate referrals both inside and outside the Centre. The Physician will also participate in case conferences and information sharing with other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team.
Qualifications :
- Current CCFP certification, registration with CPSO and a member in good standing. Current CMPA coverage.
- Ability to work as a team member with nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, health promotion staff and support staff.
- Strong health assessment and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and interdependently within a collaborative inter-professional team setting.
- Experience in addressing social determinants of health and client-centred care.

This is a permanent position with flexible hours, working 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. The rate of pay for this position is 126.24 - 149.93 per hour (on a six-step grid), with benefits, including the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan. The rate will be based on experience and education. The incumbent will primarily be required to work at our Sarnia site.

The Family First Family Health Team (FHT) is looking for a committed and experienced 0.8 FTE mental health social worker with a background in primary care to join our dedicated team of allied health providers and administrative personnel. Collectively and proudly we aim to improve the quality of and access to comprehensive primary care in the communities of Orleans, Navan, and Blackburn Hamlet.
Permanent Part time (30 hours per week)
Role and Responsibilities
To provide patient-centered care, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to patients rostered to Family First FHT’s physicians. The role consists of a combination of clinical and program work, including but not limited to:
- Counselling child, youth, adults, and families;
- Facilitating education sessions for groups of 10-14 people;
- Delivering mental health group programs (e.g. Working with Emotions DBT group, Mindfulness group, Coping with Anxiety, Optimizing Wellness CBT group)
- Completing psycho-social assessments;
- Improving existing and developing new health programs.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years counselling the youth population;
- 3-5 years of recent continuous experience in the assessment, treatment, and management of common mental health problems;
- Has a strong commitment to a collaborative care model and can work in a team effectively;
- Treats all people with professionalism, courtesy, discretion, and respect;
- Has a leadership attitude that is positive, encouraging, and that contributes to a positive work environment for all;
- Acts with diligence, reliability, and commitment to their work.
Ideal/Preferred Requirements
- Experience/certification in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT);
- French (or other language abilities);
- Experience with EMR
Education and Training Requirements
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a recognized school of social work
- Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
