clinic offering flexible work hours and an attractive renumeration. The ideal candidate physician
needs to committed to provide the highest level of care for a manageable roster of 160 – 200
patients, be willing to provide both on call availability and occasional house calls. MD Direct Offers
training and billing support while the physician builds their practice. Payment structure and full

Our team includes health professionals, educators and support workers representing both traditional Indigenous and contemporary models of care, and uses wholistic health and community development concepts.

This position is community based and supports a client-centered inter-professional team structure to ensure coordinated, wholistic care is provided to a defined population of WNHAC clients. The positions also provide nursing services within the professional scope of practice established by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

This position is part of the Ontario Nurses Association Bargaining unit.


NOTE: Traditional practices involve cultural ceremonies and burning sacred medicines including tobacco, sweetgrass, sage and cedar within the work setting.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Current registration as a RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing;

Willingness to work in full scope of practice, performing delegated acts through medical directives; experience in immunization administration, venipuncture, wound care and advanced nursing assessment skills an asset;

Demonstrated ability to work independently and be an effective team member;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated ability to communicate with health care professionals, community members, traditional helpers, and leadership;

Understanding of wholistic health and well being, demonstrated cultural competencies and experience working in an Indigenous organization; ability to understand and speak Anishinaabemowin a definite asset;

Willingness and ability to travel, with significant community-based activity;

Valid drivers license and own vehicle required;

Proof of immunization in compliance with policy requirements is mandatory;

Current criminal records/vulnerable sector check required;

Commitment to ongoing training and professional development relevant to job requirements;

Were assembling a roster of Primary Care NPs (Adult or Primary Health Care) to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management for diverse adult populations in institutional and community settings across Ontario. Shifts span days/evenings/nights/weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced health assessments, order/interpret diagnostics, and develop care plans.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions; prescribe medications within scope.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.
  • Support urgent/emergent response (initial stabilization and escalation).
  • Lead inter-professional coordination and contribute to program development/quality initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and practice in alignment with CNO standards.

Qualifications

  • CNO registration in the Extended Class (RN-EC); Primary Health Care or Adult NP.
  • Demonstrated experience in primary care, community health, urgent care, or similar settings.
  • Strong diagnostic reasoning, prescribing confidence, and EMR proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork; comfortable in secure/institutional environments.
