**As a Gas Plant Operator with us the minimum responsibilities are:**
Operate and control the biomethane plant to ensure safe and efficient performance.
Perform daily operations including monitoring, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining systems, equipment, and buildings.
Troubleshoot and restart equipment after unscheduled shutdowns or trips (mechanical, electrical, electronic, and plumbing).
Collect, record, and analyze plant performance data.
Conduct routine and non-routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
Operate forklifts and man lifts as required.
Inspect and examine machinery to detect potential failures and prevent unplanned downtime.
Close work orders and document completed tasks using the plantu2019s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Order necessary parts, supplies, and tools.
Perform snow removal and deicing of the facility.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
**What We Need From You:**
A safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety issues.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility operation and maintenance.
Strong aptitude in electrical or instrumentation systems is an asset.
Experience with SCADA systems, blowers, thermal oxidizers, adsorption vessels, gas-fired engines, or gas compression equipment is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is an asset.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively within a team.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (approximately 1 week per month) and be within a 30-minute drive from the site during on-call periods.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts (initially bi-weekly day/evening shifts, transitioning to day shift only).

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Responsible for supporting the CRT/Ops Supervisor in providing oversight of the area activities and ensuring they are integrated and conducted in a safe and efficient manner. Works in a crew environment to manage activities involved with safe and efficient operation of all plant units and sulfur recovery operations. Performs surveillance of equipment.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work cooperatively with Contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment for their work
Responsible for participation in the Operations Emergency Response activities relating to the Area
Provide support and coordination with the Systems Completion team in start-up and commissioning of the facilities
Take part in the review of work packages for planned maintenance activities within allocated Area, confirms that isolation requirements are applied, and ensures that the preparation of equipment is planned in a manner that provides a safe environment in which personnel can work
Endorse Work Permits as the Area Operator (AO) . Endorse Work Permits as the Isolating Authority (IA) when required.
Encourages team effort between Maintenance and Operations groups
Supports work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and to complement the efforts of other work groups
Ensuring the CRT is informed and consulted about operations and major issues
Ensures good communication between Areas so that issues can be adequately addressed and actions completed
Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in allocated Area
Maintain a daily log and shift changeover notes

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 years' experience with heavy equipment in a continuous manufacturing process environment.

Job Description
Job Title: Process Operator I
Location: Markham / ON / Canada
Duration: 06 Months (Temp to perm depending on performance)
Pay Range: $(21.00 – 22.78)/hr on T4
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00 PM – 6:15 AM, 38.75 Hours a week – Two 30 minute breaks (1 paid, 1 unpaid)
Training Schedule: Training will be up to two months then transitioning to the night shift. The training will either be Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM or Monday - Friday 2:00 PM to 10:15 PM. More details to be shared around the offer/clearance of screenings.
Position Summary:
- Provide an overview of the role, including job scope, responsibilities, impact, decision authority, problem solving, level of influence, etc.
- Manufactures products by operating various equipment in accordance with the Master Batch Record (MBR) and in compliance with EH&S policies, GMPs, and controlled procedures (SOP, EM, WI, JA, etc.) and performing troubleshooting and setup in a basic capacity, as required per Department/Site
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs duties in accordance with the MBR and in compliance with EH&S policies, GMPs, and controlled procedures
- Completes all GMP documentation (MBR, controlled procedures, labels, logbooks, validation documentation, etc.) in accordance with Data Integrity
- Independently runs at least one (1) process type and performs all required in process checks (IPCs). Performs ERP data entry and transactions, and verification checks as required
- Conducts basic troubleshooting: Identifies issues and reacts to resolve (i.e. reset and fine tune equipment)
- Conducts basic equipment setup: Programming batch information, setup and configuration of equipment including dismantling, cleaning, and assembly of processing equipment/rooms according to controlled procedures
- Notifies Supervisor when processing issues, product quality concerns and safety incidents occur
- Ensures the proper care, use and condition of tools, equipment, rooms, and GMP area
- Retrieve, move and store materials in appropriate areas of facility, as required per Department/Site
- Supports and engages in OPEX activities/ initiatives (OEE, SMED, RCPS, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
- Acts as a coach and supports training of new employees
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Identify the minimum education that would typically be required/preferred to perform this position
- Requirements should include course of study, degree level and major/field of study
- Required: Minimum successful completion of High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Pharmaceutical Diploma or a university degree in a related science field
Experience:
- Identify the minimum years of experience that would be required/preferred for a candidate to enter this position
- Include the type of experience, ay specialty skill experience and/or supervisory/managerial experience required/preferred
- Required: 1 year experience in manufacturing environment
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Specialized Skills or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications Required:
- Working knowledge of Windows applications, ERP systems, licensed on manual/motorized lift trucks, as required
Functional Knowledge:
- Demonstrated knowledge of GMPs, EH&S procedures, including OH&S Act, WHMIS
- Company / Industry Related Knowledge:
- General knowledge of Pharmaceutical or comparable GMP industry
- Job-Specific Competencies:
- Strong writing skills: Prepare written materials that are accurate, clear, logical and well organized
- Planning/Organizational skills: Organize and manage time to complete tasks and projects. Ability to multi task
- Problem solving: Ability to identify alternatives and solve routine problems, explain the processes to others (training)
- Math skills: Demonstrated ability to perform required computations, calculations and problems
- Interpersonal skills: Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a high performance team

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Responsible for liaising with the Control Room Technician (CRT) and other Operations Technicians on job safety requirements to ensure understanding of the work objectives, safety, health, environmental, Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) and security concerns. Responsible for supporting the CRT/Ops Supervisor in providing oversight of the area activities and ensuring they are integrated and conducted in a safe and efficient manner. Works in a crew environment to manage activities involved with safe and efficient operation of all plant units and sulfur recovery operations. Performs surveillance of equipment.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work cooperatively with Contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment for their work
- Responsible for participation in the Operations Emergency Response activities relating to the Area
- Provide support and coordination with the Systems Completion team in start-up and commissioning of the facilities
- Take part in the review of work packages for planned maintenance activities within allocated Area, confirms that isolation requirements are applied, and ensures that the preparation of equipment is planned in a manner that provides a safe environment in which personnel can work
- Endorse Work Permits as the Area Operator (AO) . Endorse Work Permits as the Isolating Authority (IA) when required.
- Encourages team effort between Maintenance and Operations groups
- Supports work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and to complement the efforts of other work groups
- Ensuring the CRT is informed and consulted about operations and major issues
- Ensures good communication between Areas so that issues can be adequately addressed and actions completed
- Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in allocated Area
- Maintain a daily log and shift changeover notes
- Safely perform physical tasks at times, e.g. moving drums of chemicals, lifting, climbing ladders/silos/tanks
- May perform minor maintenance to equipment
- Maintain a high standard of plant housekeeping
- Make process changes to ensure quality control of end products that are within accepted standards
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years’ industry experience in operations, or similar; required
- Extensive knowledge in production operations/processes
- Extensive knowledge in P&IDs, PFD’s and UFD’s
- Able to read shutdown logic diagrams
- Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others
- Excellent communications (oral & written) in English
- Excellent interpersonal and motivation skills
- Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment
- Advanced understanding and operation of Emergency Preparedness Procedures
- Advanced knowledge of safety management tools and processes. (Permit to Work (PTW), Stepback 5x5, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment)
- Understanding of Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), safety management tools and Production Operations Best Practices (POBP)/ Planning & Budgeting (P&B) processes
